Proper cup tie where a shock was always likely. I thought TV companies wanted this sort of game and not an excuse to show the overexposed big clubs yet again? P.S 3-0 now!
That's not the point. A team at the top of League One with some decent players at home to a bottom half PL team, having been unlucky not to beat them in the first game (which finished 2-2). Wasn't it likely to be a decent cup tie with a possible shock and plenty of goals? Preferable to watching a Championship team defend against a top PL team, but lose narrowly (which is the probable outcome)?
This is a poor result for Bournemouth. I love Eddie Howe and his football philosophy and I think Bournemouth is obviously a decent and civilised club. What worries me is they seem to lack a PL mentality. On paper, they appeared to buy wisely in the summer. In reality, the new keeper has turned out to be no more reliable than the crazy Polish guy and Ake looked a decent player when on on loan, but now is a liability. Defoe is knackered and their other forwards, whilst talented, do blow hit and cold.
