Yes, we lost the derby. Yes, we're out the League Cup ('twas ever thus...). But it's still only August FFS. I've been following the lads for forty something years and I have been here so many times and have so many T-shirts, I may be getting a bit immune. But in all that time we've never had the set-up we have now. A squad with depth, a top stadium, a top academy producing talent, a top chairman and a serious businessman with serious cash as owner. You'll note the absence of any comment on Steve Bruce as the jury is still out, but at least he has a track record and reputation as a Prem manager and there's many a team who'd love to have him. In summary, the ship is in good shape and any jumping over the sides this early in the season are just rats. If the mags are gloating (and if they'd had our start we would be) so be it. It seems some people only want to come on here when the news is good and to them I simply say "man up". A good point at Liverpool and a close loss to the skunks do not a season make...
Bit of a relief to be back TBH. It was in the high 90s when I left and that's to hot even for a sand-dancer! Loads of beer and Spanish footie though. You should see how worked up they got over the Real-Barca Super Cup games. Everyone in the country seems to watch the clasicos.
They live for Barca - Real Sid, they are so proud of them, and rightly so. We watched one of the games in a Malaga bar, and you'd have thought Malaga were playing. 2 wonderful games as well mind! It's cooled down a wee bit, nic breeze off the Med, thank christ!
Emotions are running high Sid. We haven't had the best of starts to the season , and Bruces negative tactics last night didn't do him any favours in the Bruce Out Camp. What we need is a win on Saturday , just to calm the nerves. And a marquee striker wouldn't go amiss either.
Bought a whole ham this time. I've had so much jamon and San Miguel I'm going to have to diet until Christmas!
A win at Swansea and all will be well for a bit. Never been to their new stadium or the Vetch for that matter. They're a tidy side, but had a stinker in the Cup last night as well, so...
Welcome back Sid mate. Not trying to bring you down mate but the Titanic was in fine shape, the Captain at the helm still sank it. hahaha
Simply has to be done mate! They basically give away San Mig here, i live on it, the chorizo is spectacular as well! I have a plate of chorizo and cheese here as we speak!
Cooled down a bit??!! In Madrid, the day on Saturday when we walked 10 k to an airfield outside of the city, practically across a desert, it was 43 degrees!!!! And there was a huge storm that night, when everybody slept outside (2.5 mil btw)
It's still 31 today mate, but there is a smashing gentle breeze to take the sting out of it. It's gone into bug overload mind, they are ****ing everywhere, i'm literally defending my terrace like a madman, i have beautiful plants growing around the pillars of the terrace, but the bugs ove the little things that live on the leaves, so i'm on constant guard with sprays, and poison, and treatments for the plants! Amusing and mildly annoying.
Aye, inland see. We are 200 metres from the water, surrounded by tropical gardens. Great for views, but a ****ing haven for the little bastards.
