I agree Cromer. We have plenty of options either side but we do need another striker, preferably a pacey one with a clincical finish. The only other need is a RB if Rusty goes out on loan.
Couldn't we just recall Louis Ramsey and see if he can follow Jamals footsteps? I like the look of Ramsey when I've seen him at RB.
Replay picked for another TV game. More money for the club to hide away and tell us there is no money! But still, better than a kick in the nacks! More money in.
Bu883r FML - you beat me to it. Interesting the referee will be by 'assisted' by VAR!! 'The match against the Premier League giants is also set to feature a video assistant referee (VAR) as part of a current trail of the system in English football, which begins tonight in the one remaining third round tie when Brighton host Crystal Palace.'
Oh really!? That could play into our hands. Harder for the Ref to fudge us, with decisions. If we had VAR in the Arsenal game, we might have gone through. On the other hand, if Chelsea play players like Pedro, Hazard, William. I can see the pace and trickery around the area causing a few calls for VAR assistance.
Thankfully, VAR can ONLY be used in the following circumstances - "Video evidence can only be used to decide whether a goal should stand, whether a player deserves a straight red card, whether a penalty should be awarded and in cases of mistaken identity. There are two ways VAR can be used utilised. Firstly, a referee can ask for a second look after making an on-field decision. The more likely scenario will see the VAR advise an on-field referee to review an incident when the ball next goes dead." Which is EXACTLY how I said it should be used. Is it just me that thinks it is wrong to introduce VAR in the final game of the round? Surely it would be fairer to start it at the beginning of the next round, I'm sure with the use of VAR some of the results would have been different.
I see what you're saying Dave and I'm sure some results may well have been different, but it's also being used tonight
Here's a clearer explanation of VAR and in plain english - "Opponents of VAR suggest it will upset the flow of the game, but it will normally be used during stoppages in play and limited to four types of match-changing incidents: goals, penalties, straight red cards, mistaken identity." So my understanding is that it could 'disallow' any goal scored by a player in an offside position. Edit, it wouldn't have been needed for the winning Brighton goal last night. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/42615776
Bump ! I haven't had time to do a new thread for tonight guys so I've given the thread a new title and updated the top of the OP
and who, in all likelihood, wouldn't have been remotely near the team sheet even if they were still NCFC players. As Jim Bowen used to say on Bullseye, "We move on" ! please log in to view this image
