Looks like he has a motivational issue. There is no suprise that Klopp got the best out of him. Despite some of his best football with him, he still had off seasons. But I agree, he is a quality player and in the right place, will pull off something special.
Walcott passes medical - reports Sky are reporting that Theo Walcott has passed his medical at Everton and agreed terms with the Toffees, so we could be seeing him a blue shirt very soon. Promised so much but delivered so little. Another player we persevered for far too long. It'll be interesting to see what he will do at Everton and whether he actually had the quality or we couldn't get the best out of him. Time will tell. Good luck anyways.
Big Sam may well get the best from Walcott, Wenger never could. Don't really think anyone improves under Wenger, even the Ox is improving with Klopp. Iwobi and Wellbeck are not really improving though Wenger loves to play them irrespective of how they perform. Perez was far better than most of our strikers but he was s--t on from a great height by Wenger.
To be honest Walcott needed to go for his own career, he was going stale and there would be no guarantee the new Arsenal manager would want him. A typical English type striker would thrive under another type of team.
nah they have bigger problems than that. Their defence looks crap and even going forward they aren't great
I don't know - The Ox always had a few big games, his big problem was with any kind of consistency. I have to be honest that I have a big problem with managers doing anything positively or negatively with players. I think it has much more to do with how players fit with other players and within a formation or system.
I think the boomerang just plays on the wing where Sanchez did. The problem exists if Miky comes in as well, and Ozil stays, if only 'til the end of the season. But the chances are one of the 4 will be injured, or can be rested without an issue.
Our front three aren't really wingers though, that's more the wing backs in a 3-4-3, so Bellerin and Kolasinac/Monreal. If we sign Aubameyang he'll play in a front three: Ozil...Lacazette...Aubameyang
The difference between a good player and a top class one. Oxo didn't work out for us but we will see if Klopp can use him in a better way. Not a top class player but is a good squad player.
People saying that Klopp has improved Ox are way too premature. He had some good games for us too, but as mentioned he is inconsistent. If he can play like he did against City week in week out, then you can say he's improved. But it is way too early to tell at the moment.
Agreed; I truly think neither Arsenal fans, nor Liverpool fans can pass judgment on Ox until a few seasons have gone by. Ox had some purple patches for us where he played pretty well, then would get injured and be out for a month and come back but off form. Lets revisit in 4 seasons and see if Klopp has 'improved him'
Wenger press conference now 8:45am. Should hear a bit more about any deals for Aubemeyang, Mkhitaryan and Malcolm ....
