http://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/first-team/163124-cafu-i-see-my-style-of-play-in-jon-flanagan Cafu said you guys were calling him that first! Anyway look how crazy you were all about him! https://www.not606.com/threads/is-jon-flanagan-the-red-cafu.249530/ @Skylarker for you mate
Inter Milan make their move for Daniel Sturridge - but they want a loan rather than a permanent deal #LFC
His style of play made him a bit of a fan fav for a while, what he lacked in ability he made up for in determination. Once Klopp arrived it was clear he didn't want him. His loan spell didn't go well and he can't get near the team now. He isn't a great defender and not great going forward, he may get into some PL teams but not at the top end.
Flanno was never reliable. People mistake putting in heavy Challenges with being good defensively. For someone who couldn’t attack or venture forward, he was often beaten down his flank - hence why he was the most dribbled past defender in the league. This guy is championship level and nothing more.
yeah, its clear klopp doesn't want him. I'm putting his lack of development down to chance (like all the players chelsea don't play)
Liverpool’s €30m considered nowhere near enough to complete deal, personal terms offer made It seems that Liverpool will really have to raise their bid to take Gelson Martins from Sporting, otherwise their agreement with the player will be in vain.
Being pedantic like ... some called him the scouse Cafu. Cafu called him the red Cafu. Anyway not sure where you're going with the thread link. He came back from injury and looked good - I remember the cheers when he tackled Sterling - but that's as maybe, we're all incensed with the assault on his girlfriend which has nothing to do with his footballing ability or lack thereof
Agreed. Dunno why you are even bringing that in, this whole debate was on whether he was any good. He was good enough to be called the scouse cafu (at the time). that's a fair point although that doesn't necessarily mean he's failed. Some people fail to break through. Harry Kane is an example, loaned out numerous times but didn't make the breakthrough until Sherwood gave him a chance in the europy
I wouldn't expect anything less from the Italians. If we do convince them to buy him, it will be £500k upfront and the rest tied up in addons
i've said he could have gone onto bigger and better things. Obviously he had great form at one point. Dave came in a solid player and now is our best defender. Probably wouldn't be half the player but could have been a decent one like carragher. Kane was an example of loan and first team opportunities gone wrong. It was again another example not a direct comparisson
yea but hazard is #overrated ask luv. Yup good crosses, but still not technically great. Think defences were caught out because he hadn't done that much before.
