Look at any one of his speeches from this time in which he envisaged the European Union long before most others did. If you are trying to draw a parallel here with your paranoia about perceived German domination now then think again. Germany can be outvoted in the European Parliament by any 2 of the largest nations and is underrepresented in the EU. commission. They contribute 22% of the EU. budget compared to a population of 19% of the EU. This does not sound like domination other than in your fevered imagination. Britain has voted with the EU. on 95% of it's laws - that is a higher percentage than Germany can claim. If Britain had not spent the last 30 years complaining from the sidelines then they could be running the show together with France.

So there are two souls in Europe that do not recognise the obvious German domination of the EU and the ECB.

I am not subscribing to the Financial Times in order to read this SH. Which you well know. It is true that the absence of the British in the EU. Parliament will change the balance of power in there - but very much for the better as it will strengthen the left a little - as for the Ukip EMPs, they also won't be missed, not that they were ever there anyway.

This Thursday our President is coming to the UK, and it is widely reported that if you wish to keep the border in Calais you better start shaking that magic money tree again. Of course there will be deals on all sorts of things, but every time you look it will cost you. Fair enough, you chose to go down this route.

Would you mind answering why the last 5 Prime Ministers who are still living are all against Brexit ? In desparation you are now picking dead ones who cannot answer back.

They might as well close down UKIP forthwith.
Following the glorious referendum victory, which they played a huge part in, there does not seem to be any purpose any longer for this political party. Most of their supporters will hopefully revert back to the Tories.

With the Labour Party veering well to the left and attempting to take the UK back several decades, the only alternative for centre and right voters is the Conservatives.

You would need to ask them. Most of them certainly came up with some faulty 'project fear ' predictions.

Macron is set to announce the Bayeux Tapestry is to be displayed in the UK sometime in the future on one condition that he can dress up as William of Normandy.

Macron does have a well earned reputation for dressing up and excessive make up..

Perhaps he'll grow out of it.

    Mine are very expensive jibes.

Did somebody steal your sense of humour or is it caused by excessive pot smoking in the sixties? :emoticon-0140-rofl:

Last year the direct route from Ireland to France for commercial traffic started, and the fact they are increasing the number of sailings shows they are being well used.
