Going to stick to my head and heart predictions as they seem to be doing the trick Heart: Comfottable win that rightfully cements our place at the top of the table and increases the gap between us and pre-season Championship favourites Leicester to 11 points. Saints 4-1 Leicester (Lambert, Lallana (x2), Fonte; Nugent) Head: Scrappy but deserved victory, more a case of who can score the most goals as both teams look to exploit the counter-attack. Saints 3-2 Leicester (Lallana, Connolly, Guly; Nugent x2)
I've been worried about this one for a few weeks now. Want to take three points off anyone who's likely to be promotion challengers this season, and Forest to follow, isn't it? Leicester will be anxious for their first home win of the season - it's been no fortress so far, which is obviously in our favour. So far this season, we seem to have played without fear, and played some superb football, worthy of our wins - but how much is also down to catching other teams by surprise at how good we are? After four wins, the game will undoubtedly be up - and so that surprise is gone - opposition know we're a good team, and the balance changes in favour of other teams who are determined to show the early season upstarts who's the boss. imho, that's where the game is going to be decided - which of those forces is strongest! A 2-2 draw: I'm sitting on the fence - a Saints win prediction is a kiss of death for me. Infact, I think I may have cursed us just by posting on the subject...
One thing's for certain - Leicester will pick up some cards! Got to be the Championship's filthiest team so far, surely? 13 bookings, and two sendings off (one second yellow).
Leicester looked very good against Forest and the 2-2 draw was not a reflection of the game. Leicester dominated until the 70th minute when the ref sent off our keeper and gave an unjust penalty to turn it around. We did not let Forest play. We are very strong in midfield and managed to peg Forest into their own half while they had the ball. Defensively we were superb and should have come away with a clean sheet. This in contrast with last season's Leicester who would play football first and foremost and not be particularly difficult to play against. My worry is the game is at home. The players have seemed burdened by expectation at home so far and I hope this does not continue. They need to man up and perform regardless of the pressure. They are experienced players in the most part and I expect them to perform as solidly at home as they do away ASAP. IF...our players heads are right, I expect us to be too robust to succumb to Soton's confident attack any more than once. We currently need strengthening in attack but we still have David Nugent who has scored 2 in 4 and doesn't need many chances to score. So either 1-1 or 2-1 to Leicester for me.
Home win. Maynard will be a blue by then, Nugent with one then late on Maynard with the other. 2-0 to the blues and the season will start there
I don't think we will play as bad as our first two home games. Forest away showed we are starting to gel more and I can see Leicester winning 2-1. Also a chance we could finally be getting our new striker in by the weekend which will help.
I wouldn't say we have been dirty at all. If you look at those decisions some have been appauling. I have not seen one (apart from Vassells red against Cov) card that has been malicious. We have had some terrible referees recently.
Haaaang on, the highlights I saw he threw the ball into the crowd to stop Forest getting it, agreed not dirty, but I don't think you can argue he was innocent! On the topic of the game; with no disrespect to Leicester, looking down their team sheet doesn't worry me the way it would looking at a West Ham. I would hope for 2-1 to Saints, but I expect 1-1, possibly 2-1 to Leicester.
I precited this one as high scoring before the season started. 3 straight home losses would be a disaster and I don't think that has happened since 2007. I think we will be better than the previous 2 but we are facing better opposition. I'm struggling to see us winning tbh, we are not creative enough and have been conceding sloppy goals, despite our defence looking solid for the majority of the time. Lose 2-1 or 3-1 I'm afraid.
Hold on a second. Since when was the crowd on the half way line? You we're not there. You did not know what happened. Kasper threw the ball to the half way line and the ball was on the spot 5 seconds after the ref had his card out, it was unbelievable.
