After the recent riots, which mostly involved juvenile delinquents, do you think bringing back caning and beatings in school would be a good idea? I do, because it would sort out the troublemakers, and teach them some respect. I speak from experience, i was an arse in school, and got away with it, because no appropriate punishment was available. I don't want the rest of todays younger generation making the same mistakes as me.
Yes, absolutely. I got the belt many a time at school and it taught me respect for leather. After numerous doings from the teachers it eventually clicked that I was behaving badly. It taught me a very valuable lesson and it is why I have matured into a well respected amiable chap who would not say boo to a goose. If corporal does not work then they should consider capital punishment.
I'm already a big fan of capital punishment, but i don't think it's appropriate to be used in school.
It gets a lot of bad press but so what if one or two slip through the net and get murdered by the state. I mean it's for the greater good. The end justifies the means and all that.
Corporal punishment was done away with when I was about halfway through secondary school. I am convinced that we started to misbehave more once the threat of a hiding disappeared.
i didnt need to be beaten when i was a child to learn right from wrong, it just takes good parenting. nobody should be allowed to cause pain to anyone.
I am convinced that if i were in school when corporal punishment were allowed, i would be a far better person today.
You have a good point Jen, but the reasoning behind this thread is bringing back corporal punishment to deal with those who weren't raised very well, such as all the yobbo's during the riots. I was raised well (my mother is a brilliant person), but i still made mistakes in school, that i feel a good caning would have beaten out of me.
its generations of parents who couldnt give a ****. the parents were raised like that so the kids are just as bad, it will take decades to sort out. theres a good 3 generations of scum out there.
No, of course not. Giving kids a hiding only makes them scared, so they'll come to be very shy in future life, or hardened to it, which means that it becomes a ritual, rather than a punishment.
Then belting the **** out of them at school isn't going to make any difference. In fact, it would probably make things worse.
**** letting some random teacher be allowed to hit your kid. It's just promotes violence in a kid's mind. Only **** parents would want this to be allowed
That's not true. Look at all of todays successful people, they went to school during the period when caning was around, and they turned out well enough. With schools getting softer, the people coming out of the school system today are lacking in class, even if they went to a public school.
You can educate and control children without hitting them. It's the teacher's fault if they can't manage their classroom. That's not a surprise really though, look at some of the people that had to quit teaching for being such feeble-minded losers
What we need is a social order police force, made up of say ex squaddies. They can patrol the streets and beat the **** out of any little **** that`s being a ****.
When I was in about 4th year I was bigger them most of my teachers if they had hit me I would have hit the ****ers back. Also teachers are some of the most stupid folk in our society. The job was so poorly paid for a while they had to let any ****ing moron do it and the standard of teaching our kids recieve is rather sad. Teachers won't admint it but they are as much to blame as parents.
