Apologies for adding salt to any wounds but here are the crossbars so far (ie win bets that finished second), ordered by the cost of the loss ( ie what would have been returned)
You must log in or register to see images

I could do a league table of what would have been had those seconds won -- but I won't <laugh>

Any views on the elimination rule?

Maybe instead of elimination:
(a) just allow bets to continue. Effectively, each bet is funded by a loan and the profit is what would be available if the accumulated loan was re-paid in full, or

(b) betting could be suspended until the start of a new month when another £1,000 is allocated. The only purpose of allocating another £1,000 would be to control that the loss in any month is restricted to £1,000

Either would allow everyone to be involved throughout the year. It gives them a chance to get back in profit or get deeper in debt. Could be educational?

Not sure how to read that FP. I think when the fun stops will be determined by each individual. If it's fun to continue in the Consolation League they will continue. They might do better next time round. Even if they don't, if it has been fun it was worth it. Is that what you meant?
