I know you should never judge a book by its cover but just by looking at him, I think he’s a bullshit merchant.
Which tells me that the deal to sell the club is far from done. Rafa is supposedly integral to PCP's plans for the club. If the deal was already done then surely he could give such assurances.
Eh? This all sounds a bit strange Chippy. Deeney has worked for quite a few managers in his time, I don't see why he needs assurances about Rafa's future or why these assurances couldn't be given. Honestly, an experienced player like Deeney needing assurances? Laughable. Is Elliot Foster a mackem spy sent to irk us?
Deeney has been around long enough to know that there are no assurances in football these days. Just ask Tammy Abraham’s for example, claimed that his relationship and connection to the ex Swansea boss Clements swayed him from NUFC in favour of Swansea. It’s here today and gone tomorrow, so l doubt he would be naive enough to ask for assurances about Rafa.
It's a bit of a concern about Rafa's future, or lack of it, at NUFC, but more of a concern is that Deeney has been made a target of the club! He's sh.. not very good. Nay, nay and thrice nay!!!
10 Prem goals last season, 15 the season before, averages a goal every 3 games....is it really that bad? Perez and Joselu will never get stats like that anyway.
He doesn't look to me like a £20m striker. He is good in our league though, and better than what we have.
Got to agree with Pouchy on this one. I mean how many stats are made up on the spot just to support an arguement, it must be about 98% or thereabouts
something one of the commentators said on Sat when Joselu scored really hit home to me how **** we are in that department. Joeslu became the first newcastle player to get 4 goals this season. That stat just frightens the absolute **** out of me. Based on Deeney's goal every 3 games (and he's ****), that's just about 8 goals for the 23 games we've played so far this season. West Ham, Bournemouth and Watford have players on 6 and 7 goals which is the bare minimum we should be looking for from our strikers, then you start to get into the silly paid players on 10+, the Aguero's, Lukaku's and Salah's of this world. We don't need to spend silly money and pay silly wages, plenty clubs who you would regard as smaller than us (no offence intended) have proven that. I would bet good money on Mitro having given a better return than Gayle/Joselu and Perez had he been given 23 games this season.....I'm pretty sure I could have put away some of the sitters that shower of ****e have missed in all honesty.
This is the problem with Rafa, the absolute detemination just to play with a lone striker, hence having Joselu up by himself for much of this season when he clearly can't do it all alone. I remember last season when we beat Norwich 4-3 with 2 goals in injury time, and towards the end Mitro came on and the combination of Mitro and Gayle absolutely terrorised Norwich, Mitro barging defenders out the way and Gayle taking advantage and getting the goals. Some of Joselu's finshes have been pretty neat, and with Mitro to make space and ease his workload, he could have scored way more, but we all know Rafa hates Mitro and it ain't happening.
The Mitrovic thing is pointless. Rafa will not use him regardless of the teams troubles. Something has happened somewhere along the line that has made him persona non grata. Its not about ability because he is better than what we have. Certainly on what I've watched with my own eyes and in his goal record at this level. Mbemba is the same. If anything Mbemba is equally as weird. Rafa had him playing excellent that season we went down. In those last 10 games, him and Lascelles looked a good partnership. Yet we have discarded him ever since. This despite him being better than Lejeunes, Clark at centre back, and a better right back than Yedlin. In my opinion. I suppose the Mitrovic one sticks a bit more with the fans as we are struggling so badly all season up top. Rafa says he's injured anyway now. I don't think he'd make that up. Its not like we're protecting a sale as he'd be gone already. I completely agree with the sentiment we'd have more points now if we'd played Mitrovic more. Its just an opinion. Lots of others including Rafa think otherwise. To be honest my biggest criticism of Rafa is why the **** did he keep Mitro in the summer. He could have sold him, put that with the money he wasted on Joselu and got someone ok. Not great, but a hell of a lot better than Joselu.
I assume nobody offered what the club want for him. It could well have been a situation where he was on a last warning, then he gets the 3 match ban and it's game over. There's many examples in the past of players repeatedly turning up late for training. Perhaps he has 'done a Saivet' and is not putting in any effort. We'll probably never know what's really gone on. Overall, I think with Mitrovic and Mbemba it's a case of them not being able to follow instructions and Rafa wants everyone in the team doing their jobs - he needs them to for the system to work.
