None of which will surprise any Charlton fans who live in the real world.

Precisely. I have no sympathy for Karl Robinson.
He claims to be on the fans' side, but if he had sat down with any group of fans in a pub or in a meeting before he signed for the Charlton Managers' Job he would have been told exactly what was going to happen to him.

But he thought he could come in and win fans over with success (which he did for a short time) and still toe the line with Meire and the Regime.
And his biggest mistake was to believe that the Board would stand by whatever lies they told him.
Like many weak-minded people, he seems to be impressed by the superficial trappings of corporate hospitality - the smiles and handshakes, expensive suits, nice offices, good coffee and a little plate of biscuits. Everything clean and tidy and efficient, the serving classes kept well out of sight below stairs.
These people are successful businessmen and women - a cut above, a breed apart. They must be trustworthy.

A crook is a crook and a spiv is a spiv, whether they dress well and lounge around in board rooms or not.
But don't listen to the fans KR - the Great Unwashed that Katrien Meire used to find so amusing and so easy to provoke. Don't spend any time talking to real people in the neighbourhood. Just have another biscuit.

    Murray today -

“The owner will not fund permanent transfers while the takeover talks are ongoing”

    Couldn’t be clearer, really.

    Shameless stooge Murray.

Wouldn't have funded them anyway. But then we all knew that.

The time is coming pretty soon when Charlton won't be playing relegation fodder.
The next time we find ourselves in 9th place and four points adrift of the play-offs, Oldham and Bury won't be there to make us look good.

In February we play Bradford City and Shrewsbury (almost certainly twice) as well as Oxford and Doncaster - all currently top half teams.
Yes, players are coming back from injuries. But our squad was too thin before January.
Only once in our last 8 third tier seasons have Charlton gained more points after Christmas than before.

Richard "What a Man" Murray is still Roland's nodding dog. I don't believe he's ever had any meaningful input into the decision-making. He's not a link with the fans, as his bland meaningless "update" shows. Admittedly he must now be gainfully employed now that we have no CEO or Financial Officer, but if the new owners keep him on it will only be as a mascot.

The justification originally given for Murray staying on was for him to act as a bridge between Charlton fans and the Regime. This was the equivalent of making Tony Blair a UN Weapons Inspector.

Rather like TB, Murray is a hugely diminished figure (apart from in his own mind) with his previously successful reputation now trashed.

Even a couple of years ago he still had a few fans who half admired him - such people are increasingly hard to find today.

I read on CL yesterday that RM was allegedly the driving influence behind Charlton fans getting their trips to Eltham Police Station and subsequently Court, for their postings on social media. What a nice bloke he has turned out to be.

TB was responsible for a steady decrease in membership of the Labour Party, along with a general feeling of apathy and disconnection with the leadership. Familiar?

It's reported that Everton are set to bid a paltry £2m for Konsa. I expect Murray to be an easier pushover than our ex-CEO. Negotiations could be over very quickly.

Murray played the faux nice guy for years. Even between 2006 - 2010, when the wheels really came off and a double relegation led us to the brink of administration, many fans continued to give “Muzza” the benefit of the doubt. The first signs that Stockholm Syndrome has really taken grip of him came when he publicly defended Karel Fraeye as the right man to manage a Championship side. It seems increasingly apparent now that it really is all about his ego - he almost seems in denial as to what a massive mess he has made. Shades of Mugabe in Zimbabwe.

His ego has badly affected this Club. He always wants to be in the limelight. Our decline started when he appointed Dowie as Manager,to get up Jordan's nose, and gave him 11 M to waste on the likes of Traore, Faye, Diawara etc.
His backing of the spivs Jiminez and Slater and this toxic regime has been disgusting. He hangs around the Club like a bad smell. I have heard that he is trying to engineer a Takeover that best suits him and not Charlton.
Time to pack your bags Murray and **** off.

My fervent hope for the long term future of the Club is that any new owner pays Murray off and gets rid of him. No consultaancy, no Exec status, no bogus link to the fans role. Out.

Makes sense if they are anticipating a bidding war.

In which case, why not start the bidding at 4m ? Smacks to me of a clueless tit handling the deal. David Dickinson could do better.

Why would Everton go in at 4mil if anticipating a bidding war, and their exit number is probably around £5m?

Shouldn’t the selling club (us) set a benchmark figure below which they won’t go?
Even Arsenal are doing that at the moment from a position of weakness with Sánchez.

All money will go to RD so it doesn't matter to me if it is 2 or 5 Million. Colin is saying that Eoin Doyle and Samir Carruthers are coming in on loan.

KR has made it clear in recent months that Konsa is in the shop window, and that was before Roland's asset-stripping began. Konsa is our last significant saleable asset, so it is pretty clear to any potential buyer that Roland will bite the hand off any guaranteed cash-down offer.

Once again, smacks of someone who is football-clueless & incapable of learning. Pope, Gomez & Lookman all significantly undersold and with every chance of playing for England - Konsa likely to be the 4th.

How on earth can you sell those 4 English players in the current market for a combined fee of barely £17m <doh>
