yeah course, make it as complex as possible so i can spin it! It will be in this hierachy: Winning the CL trumps everything Then winning the league Then CL qualification Then FA Cup Then League Cup Then league position So if Pool win the CL, you win. If pool qualify for CL and so do Chelsea and Pool win FA cup you win if pool qualify for CL and chelsea win both FA cup and League cup, pool did better so you win if pool finish 4th and win the fa cup and chelsea finish 3rd you win if both don't qualify and pool win FA cup then you win if pool finish 3rd, chelsea finish 4th and no one wins anything you win etc etc Think that's as fair as it gets (even though we're in horrendous form, conte's too busy bickering with jose and our transfer news is a mess - barkley and carroll ) i still think we'll have a better season. 20 pounds to chosen charity (if you want avatar, username, signature etc for a month can be added for fun)
I'll just take a straight bet with you that we'll finish above you in the league. We're on identical points and nearly identical GD.
read what me and Saint have gone through in the above. To summarise, Harry Kane i said takes loads of long shots as he's a greedy bastard and wanted the goals scored stat. So whilst he's shooting from 20 yards + salah has been missing more sitters (which i'm using as "finishing ability"). As saint says, it's subjective but the official FPL stats (me and saint having gone through each of their chances) show that salah has missed 15 sitters and kane 9 (something like that). So Kane has taken more "shots" (presumably headers are in these and 30 yard strikes), Salah has missed more easier chances in my book (although i can't quantify what these easy chances are which is saints argument)
i think you will finish above us as i think Conte will scrape CL but go all out of the trophies, especially since he's got a chip on his shoulder about the CL and has been resting players in the league whenever theres been a CL game. Likewise, i don't think he's too fussed about the league now that he can't win it (not that he did before, he played a first team in a CL qualification game when we had City a few days later) and from the sounds of things, i don't even think he cares too much about next season as he's probably going to be moving on.
so Salah has a much better conversion rate despite missing six more 'easier chances' (subjective)? Imagine if he'd scored them all, he's already a lot better at converting than Kane!!! I'd also guess that 80% of those missed chances came in the first few games when he was wasteful tbh....but few could argue that he's improved and has the pace of the game nailed now.. ....unlike Morata
Kane has played more minutes and doesn't have as many assists as Salah, the extra mins equal around three games in total so the comparison is in Kane's favour. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/top-scorers
Case closed then, Sterling and Rooney are the leagues best finishers as he's got the best shots to goals ratios (based on your argument). we're talking about finishing here page, not whos the most useful/better/team player
Marginally. Sorry Jimmy, but this really is a daft argument. The overwhelmingly important thing for a keeper is to make saves - anything extra is a bonus, not an alternative.
Okay. I was merely saying that the more minutes played has given Kane three extra games to score headers, shots, lobs, penalty's or whatever. But yep I should have read back and got on to what you were talking about.
depends on your definition of clinical. For me someone who is clinical is someone who finishes there big chances more often than not (the chances where they are through on goal / have a free header / 1 on 1 with keeper etc). Not interested in shots to goals ratio as someone like ronaldo or fat frank or starfish stevie took so many shots from outside the area it skews there shots to goals ratio
still think we'll qualify for CL but yes, he won't be going all out for it and making sure we have a full strength side in the league.
St Totteringham Day will duly arrive in a few weeks and Spurs will start going backwards, so don't panic just yet Bobby.
Saves are most important. The style of football you play is also important for a goalies distribution. You only have to see what Ederson has done this year (not against your boys though, he's allowed a game off) to see how much he has changed City this year. I think he's been their most important signing this year (kyle walker next but a bit of a way down). The way he sweeps us is phenomenal (he did a few yesterday to be fair from some good balls)
Well, if you want to have a definition of the word that is different to everyone else's then fine. I think most people would, in this context, define it as efficient. Salah has a better goal per shot ratio so therefore is more efficient by definition. Of course, by all means keep wriggling - it's quite fun.
I’m sorry Saint but my statement wasn’t saying that Karius was miles better than Migs. Just stating that there is little between them two in terms of saving shots. I’m guessing that Klopp is now giving Karius a full run of games now that VVD has signed. But I think there is another debate to be had. We’ve been talking about the poor keepers since Xavi Valero left the club. His replacement, John Achterberg has been at the club and been responsible for coaching the following keepers - Reina Jones Gulasci Migs Karius Ward With the exception of Gulasci and Ward (since they have hardly played), all have regressed. And all of the keepers who have left, have since improved. Those who have watched Karius at Mainz will know that he was an excellent shot stopper -and quick off his line. Now, he doesn’t have that spring. I think there is a fundamental issue and it lies with John Achterberg.
i think you'll find most people refer to being clinical and finishing with how well people finish off their key chances. I very much doubt people have extrapolated to how many shots to goals they take. So you're telling me you think sterling and rooney are the best strikers in the game? If you are talking about the media world, then they have their darlings and wet their pants at whoever is scoring a bundle irrespective to how many they miss. Not sure where there has been any wriggling
Salahs conversion is amongst the best in Europe - people are focusing on the sitters he has missed. Whilst he should have scored them, if he had, then his conversion rate would be at record highs.
