Bloody hell, I started with Space Invaders and Asteroids early 1980s (on proper arcade machines 10p a go), then Nintendo handheld devices, I've still got an Atari from the early 80s, Nintendo 64, Game Cube, Dreamcast, Xbox, PlayStation, all in the loft. Might be worth some money. Used to love Pro Evo on the Xbox, top game.
Ah yes I still have my Atari 2600. And an Atari Lynx. I forgot about that. Game Cube and Dreamcast, classics. They didn't last long. We bought bloody everything. Never had a Megadrive but a few mates did. I mean I started out gaming with the old BBC Computer and chucky egg. Amiga 500 with Lombard Rally and Sensible Soccer. I was blown away by those games. Yeah loved the arcades too. I remember going to Whitley Bay Arcades for the first time as a nipper as a treat to our football team. We went ****ing nuts.
Remember how bad that tennis game was on the Atari 2600? Jesus that was ****. I remember Warbirds on the Atari Lynx. I ****ing loved that game. I thought I was ****ing biggles
Chucky egg, wow, brings back memories, I played it on the Spectrum IIRC. Three brothers at my school got themselves into developing games, last I heard they had about 100 staff.
How can I forget my Spectrum. Maybe the noise of it loading meant it was wiped from my psyche That screeching was horrific.
These younguns don't know how lucky they are. The thing would be smashed into little pieces now after not loading.
My former next door neighbour who was German had her two nephews staying for the week. I invited them into ours where me and my son played them at Pro Evo. They were Germany, we were England. We beat them in the last minute with a thirty yarder and they fooked off in a huff, chanting something in German
This is my earliest experience of a games console: please log in to view this image You could play any game on it as long as it involved hitting a ball from one side of the screen to the other. Commodore 64 after that.
