My concern is that if he stays we are likely to go down. Players may help him but there’s no guarantee even with a good striker we can stay up. We will then be left selling at a big loss and unprepared for the championship.

No guarantee, no. But it should give us a better chance than not spending such money.

I agree that with him in charge, we're in deep trouble. But I think we're in even deeper trouble with him in charge, and this squad remaining as it is. It's not like we're 15 points adrift, and spending any amount of money would be completely futile.

I'm not happy about letting him spend millions when he has showed so little. But, another way to look at it is, where's the money Gao, where's the money.
Screw it. stick it all on red 22, and role the dice.......

Sometimes I bet on first scorer, and notice they are not in the team! Not got a good ratio at all!

Not giving him new players seems like suicide.

Keeping him at all seems like suicide. Giving him players is like giving m man who’s slit his throat access to the first aid kit.

You wouldn't stand by and watch him bleed to death on the carpet though, would you?

You'd either put him out of his misery, or you'd try and save him.

Are we actually talking about Pellegrino here? Or still in metaphor?!

I don’t think there’s any saving him, plaster and aspirin just won’t cut it. Hence my metaphor about first aid kit when bleeding to death.

Yes, we are talking about Pellegrino. Either we put a bullet through his head, or we try to help him survive. And I don't see anyone at Saints holding a gun.

It's defeatist in the extreme to say "if he stays, we're doomed". It might be true, but it equally might not - so there's no point assuming it, and just giving up.

If he had to listen to our fans, he's soon be throwing himself off the Itchen Bridge.

Pellegrino won't buy anyone so don't worry. That not how we work, we have people in charge of recruitment. He may have his input, but I think we won't buy a certain player if we can back him up with favourable data from the blakc box. At least I hope.

Archers, you know how it is mate. People can’t handle hard times, so it is always doom, doom, doom. They give up. They resign to defeat. It is impossible for them to see anything other than the worst.

I don’t think he’s the man, but you are right. If he stays, he absolutely must have some money spent on new players.

It ain’t over until it’s over.

    Pick your soldiers carefully, Captain.

I don't rate Pellegrino but i still think the main thing we are missing is a cohesive team. I'd rather have pellegrino in place having managed the team saying what players we need than Reed doing it himself as with the last couple of summers. I think having a more functional squad may help the next manager even if it's Pellegrino that's put it together.

In addition, Pellegrino obviously wants to sit back when we have the lead. To me that suggests he wants to counter attack. We really don't have the players for that. And while I haven't seen anything to suggest he has any ability to counter, I thought the same thing about Puel and he's done alright at that with Leicester and better players so maybe Pellegrino will too if we let him bring on who he wants.

Long and Redmond should be able to counter.
