My Uncle, a QPR season ticket holder, told me that apparently last year Warnock used to tell the players not to pass to Taraabt when they were in their own half.. any truth in that?
Watford R, are you serious? U must have amnesia...... So, taking into account the bashing he gave to some dude caught by CCTV; he also 1) Punched Pederson 2) Publically moans about the Newcastle transfer policy 3) Man-handles an Arsenal player because he was accusing him of diving, THEN flops to the ground like a sack of spuds when pushed in the head!! I have defo missed other events too....... We only have space for one loose cannon, and Adel Taarabt gets my vote every time.
And how many years ago was the assault? The only slip up he's had in two seasons is the Pedersen incident, other than that nothing. Didn't Rooney escape action for a full blown elbow smash in the face of a Wigan player and shag a prostitute or two? But I expect you'd be happy to have him in your team. And the Arsenal incident, watch any football league highlights show and you'll see the same thing week in week out. He got slapped in the face and hit the deck, 99% of players (including your own) would do the same. Barton won't go to QPR. He'd need to move when you're relegated, but their wouldn't be many takers as you'd be after a transfer fee. Combine that with his wages and a lot of clubs would be put off. Plus, he could stay with us and finish mid-table somewhere then go, rather than be in a dog-fight all year.
Let's not get carried away yet. It is only talks presumably at our request; his wages are the major obstacle (65k per week). That's going to go down well with the rest of the squad although I can't see them saying anything to his face. We've been at this point with a few players so far and got no further.
I'm very serious. He acknowledged he was wrong to punch Pedersen and, I agree, that wasn't a nice thing to do. Since he quit drinking he's done nothing wrong off the pitch. Newcastle's transfer policy deserved to be criticised- he's a senior player seeing the other senior players being shipped out and replaced by cheap foreigners who might or might not cut it. I also didn't have a problem with him having a go at Gervinho for going down like a media studies student after a couple of WKDs as it showed a bit of passion and fight. He was embarrassed at himself for going down when he got slapped but it's really no different to what, unfortunately, goes on in the PL often these days. The key thing is that he's given up the booze and doesn't look like being caught up in anything off the pitch if that doesn't change. On the pitch he gives his all for his side and is a good footballer. People said Taarabt wouldn't be worth the effort when he came in. People probably thought Stan Bowles wouldn't be worth it either.
After all the transfer talk we have been involved with i have now taken the stance that if he comes great if he don't who cares
Major scale déjà vu. Seen all these comments on other threads. Let's see what happens, if we get him imagine that those who have moral objections will be writing to Tony, tearing up their season tickets. Or just venting endlessly on here. Look on the bright side, give you something to moan about now the goons are gone....
Agree 100%......Rangers have had plenty of tough cookies playing for them over the years, but few overstepped the mark like this joker. Sorry, but he's bad news IMHO...
yeah we must not get too carried away with the 'In talks' because at the moment Joey Barton is on Twitter spouting 'Music Lyrics' and other rubbish.
If the papers and tinternet are to be believed we are in for Barton, Joe Cole, Jermaine Jenas and Scott Parker. Just how many midfielders do we need?!! Resigned to seeing that low life scumbag Barton roll up at W12. You can all stick your brown noses up Warnock's ring and sing his name but he is the kind of manager that likes Barton and that is why I don't like him and never have. How did Morgan get to be the thug he was at Sheffield Utd? Only under Warnock. I wouldn't be surprised if he did a U-turn and started talks with El-Hadji Diouf. Did you see Barton's antics agains The Gooners? Assaults a player then hits the ground like he's been shot when he gets a tap on the cheek. Professional, yeah right. I'd rather get relegated and retain some dignity that have to rely on a criminal to keep us up. He speaks very highly of me though..............
The jury's out with me the only thing that I find interesting is that IF he joins his debut would against Newcastle
Someone badly doesn't want him to leave eh, makes a change from the players previous clubs fans, coming on and laughing at us for signing them!
You should be ashamed of yourself mentioning Taraabt and Bowles in the same context as Joey Barton. He's not fit to lace up Stan's boots.
