Exactly. We can’t judge another country’s laws as being civil or otherwise. I personally think the gun laws - or lack of - in USA are abhorrent, particularly vs state laws in terms of public display of alcohol or gambling, but I wouldn’t go there, flout said latter laws and then call them uncivilised.
Are you really so shallow that you don't have an opinion? There has always been opinions bout foreign policies and laws, these opinions, some of the time, lead to amicable change or war.
No it's not civilised, you've missed the point. Being civil or not, being fair or unfair is not the question. There are tariffs for breaking laws, the tariff seems to be stoning for infidelity and at least 3 years for importing drugs. You break the law you pay the tariff. The fact that the tariffs may be barbaric is a diferent question.
