I saw a tweet from some lady saying she'd seen kids being stopped from taking them in, dangerous weapons or sommat, and she pointed out the hot coffee in her flask was more dangerous.
I was never arsed if we sold McShane and that song used to make me cringe when he played for us, never mind when he’s playing for someone else.
pathetic - no player put his body on the line more than Macca - he deserves every respect and just about everyone in the ground recognised that except for a few no-marks
I assume I’m in the no-mark category? Deserved respect when announced or when leaving field of play, or possibly if we’d have been batterring them 4-0 ,but having the loudest song of the afternoon sung about him when he was still playing and the game was very much in the balance was embarrassing
Bit over the top these reactions to McShane. Booing Henriksen is completely wrong but recognising a former player who earned respect with his performances for us is harmless. Yes it was over the top, that was the joke all along, even when he was here. I'm always uncomfortable with people telling the singing section of supporters what they should and shouldn't be singing. Get in the North stand, sing an alternative song and get people joining in with you. But if they stopped singing every chant that someone on here doesn't like it'd be complete silence.

I think that's the point. It was pretty much silence but for the McShane song. It doesn't really bother me but I get what people are saying. Appreciative clap when his name was read out and when walking of would have been enough.
Yeah course it would have been enough but the singing section in the North stand wanted to go further and had a bit of fun. If people wanted to sing something else at a louder volume they were more than welcome to.
Do many of the current players have songs? If Keane scored goals to keep us up, and most of the assists came from Toral, would people start humming the Bolero?
I’m part of the ‘singing section’ but it was poor judgement IMHO I know you can’t tell everyone what to sing. You just start it and see how it goes That’s what I often do (and did yesterday, a beautifully harmonised chorus of ‘she’ll be wearing blank and amber...’) But on hear we discuss our opinions For the record I thought it would have been ok as he was going off the pitch, and it wouldn’t have been that bad if there had been more other songs. I didn’t join in I think the ‘used to be ****e’ sing for Meyler is ****ing awful and I’ve gone beyond joining in to having proper arguments with people about it I don’t really like the ‘shags ten birds a night’ song, but only since I heard McGregor doesn’t like it I do like the ‘starman’ sing for Bowen, but Adkins has buggered it up by playing him on the left We need more songs for our players, particularly the ones that are actually ours
