Exactly, and I’m afraid a player whom comes from the French league for example whom isn’t playing for that team isn’t exactly going to give that boost that WE all need.
Posted about him a little while ago. Technically advanced and wired for attacking football...I'd love to get him. Might not be available until the summer, though.
He will not leave this window, Especially as Pritchard has just left. But I agree, He is a good talent.
Romeu, Cedric, Bertrand and Lemina were hardly unknown. I'll add Clyne to that too if we go for 5 1/2 years! Generally you are right of course but where an appropriate deal has been available we've done it. You could also argue that Pellè and Mané were only unknown to us but were very big deals in their respective leagues before joining. We aren't shopping in Lidl.
"Big deals in their respective leagues" is the key, IMO. If we want to be a big fish in a small pond, it'd behoove us to target players who are big fish in small ponds.
Les and Mauricio conversation MP: New signings, how very exciting LR: Yeah. We're getting a new lad on the Northam turnstiles, lovely lad. And a new cleaner for your office.
Unknown as in not "household" names for most of us. People want PL stars and names they recognise. I much prefer the way we have been operating rather then getting a Carrol or Hernandez etc.
Yes I know what you mean SP and you're quite right. We've never fished in that pond. I just feel that for all our current woes a bit of perspective on where we are in terms of attracting talent was worth a mention. Our trading is certainly still the envy of the other clubs outside the biggies.
