Mate, can see your opinion and sorry for coming across being awkward here but I don't lay all the blame on MP for this game. I am not an MP fan so no reason to defend him but feel we were unlucky in this game. There are many other games he has cocked up. I read some of the posts and thought we'd lost 4-0 I see the stats 13-1 in shots for Watford second half.and we can use stats for whatever we want. What I will say is how often have we had stats like that in our favour and MP is still heavily criticised. An example the 0-0 v Swansea we had about 32-1 in shots ratio but still MP fault we didn't win.
I agree. Pellegrino will keep his job if we stay up by however small a margin. He is in favour....or at least they are giving him leeway because of what has happened in the club. MP2's job is safe unless a genius manager they have always wanted turns up next summer or they decide we face imminent relegation (and they .don't seem to feel that at the moment)*. *And neither do I....not impossible, but I see a long miserable crawl to the end of season with a 15th place finish.
I won't make my mind up ref relegation for another 2 games or so , but for some reason , I think he is liked by the powers that be . Time will tell .
I don't see where the points are coming from with things as they are. As negative as it is I'm convinced that he's taking us down.
Perhaps it's a situation of the supposed 'new faces' arriving soon being those from MP's 'wish list', and, if they dont have any immediate impact - then that will be it.. ? Still doesnt take any account of his tactical nieveity though, does it...
Plus virtually everyone of our relegation rivals have changed Manager and their results have picked up.
Not a problem mate, I'm not giving the players a free ride, but to be so good in one half and abject in the second must come from the character and direction of the leadership IMO.
It’s all very well feeling like that now but otherwise crap teams are improving. Palace, West Ham both doing well after managerial change. West Brom got a win. Stoke will hire a new manager who might get them playing. Other teams will strengthen in the window. It’s all very well strengthening but if our manager is tactically inept it doesn’t matter.
Yep, add in the fact that the squad appear to have little fight and it's got relegation written all over it.
Even Swansea seem to have improved under the new boss. Though the squad is so poor I doubt it will matter.
I think we have to win at home to Brighton and away to West Brom. That would take us to 27 points and I think we'd then be able to limp to safety (around another ten points) with a win or two and a few draws. Lose those two games and MP HAS to be sacked. I hope West Brom don't pick up many more wins like yesterday and Stoke's new manager doesn't turn around their fortunes as that will help us massively. I do though see Newscastle, Brighton and Huddersfield slipping down closer to trouble. Think they might be in for tough second halves of the season. Again, that would really help us so my fingers are crossed!
Interesting that Pellegrino tried to give gametime to Sims today. He seems desperate for fast players that can counter attack, whether its Long who couldn't score to save his life or an unproven youngster who's only had 45 minutes of youth football since a long term injury. I'm guessing that's why we're after Walcott too.
It is noticeable that we have accumulated quite a few cards this season and last....and yet were goodie two shoes in previous seasons since Leihberr bought us. Possibly due to changes in rules, but I would guess you are more likely to foul players when chasing the game/protecting a slim lead than you are when 2 or 3 up and cruising. Yes, we did cruise in the past because we were confident that few could score against us. Happy Days.
Prowse basically calling the players and manager out. He said we need to stop sitting back and inviting pressure on ourself
