I didnt think he had a bad game, although i don't think he had a good game. Wasn't his usual energy filled game, dunno if he was told to sit more maybe.

Slutsky did have them more games and preseason though.

The disallowed goal just shows again to me again one of the reasons why it's hard to get into football, you just depend on the referee for a vital moment like that.

Having just read through the posts since the game finished, the fact that most of them were discussing whether it was Henriksen or Meyler that were getting booed, and whether a song for McShane was a good thing or not, probably sums up the game. Nothing much to say I guess, on the whole sounded an average performance, should have won, Toral's goal should have stood, and we were the better side.

    Positives.

    Clean sheet.
    Getting injured players back.
Gained a point on all those below us.
Maintaining a healthy goal difference on those below us.

No one was discussing who was booed mate. One idiot in the whole stadium pretends it wasn't aimed at henriksen.

    Quick match report john.

We were very flat. Nige likes us to push high up and not let them play out from the back. We did this against Fulham but used so much energy we were knackered second half. We were more controlled this time but it wasn't good viewing.
Larsson I thought started poorly, quite a few poor touches, but was motm in the end.
Irvine had a good game till he went off injured. Gets back and steals the ball.
Bowen seemed out of sorts to me and shoulda scored with our one clear chance.
Toral I thought was quite pl a few times. Keeps throwing his arms in the air when things go wrong. I was sure he was coming off as he was nackered second half.
Meyler was average. Him and Larsson very contained. Both kept trying o knock a ball over the top with not much success. Difficult to do.

Mcgregor was his usual miserable self. Gotta love him. When he did the save, the ball went upfield and nige was calling to him and agave him a little round of applause. You could see greegsy mutter **** off, alright you couldn't but you imagined him doing it <laugh>

Tomori will develop into a good full back. Good tussle with their left winger who was quite speedy. Poor distribution going forward tho.
Aina is the first right footer whose better as a left back since mick mills! Some great touches and skill but his final ball lets him down. As it does our full team.

Dawson. Got some great blocks and professional fouls in.
Hector. He just worries you whenever he has the ball. Lost his man for their chance when greegsy made a great double save.

Dicko was average. Fc when he came on found it hard too. Neither are suited to one up top imho.

    Henriksen and Evandro were ok.

Our set piece delivery is poor. Underhit corners, crossesand poor free kicks. We really need better delivery.

    Good report
    Good
Good report of the game, thought Dicko didn't cause them much in the way of problems, same with FC when he came on, Hector needs to improve both his passing and concentration, Irvine who I think has been very good recently wasn't quite so effective has recent games. Boring games like yesterday sometimes need that one player who makes the difference which we didn't have, Elliot often did it when we were in the lower leagues. Booing your own player is a disgrace

I'm not saying yesterday was brilliant, we should've won but Dicko missed a few more chances which I feel Fraizer would have taken.

Think we're missing Grosicki like our left arm too. He might not track back but he can provide that bit of magic.

There should be a secret society of right-footers who have played left back for any length of time. Mick Mills and Dennis Irwin playing Pictionary against James Milner and Sam Ricketts - but they have to draw with their left hand.

It annoys me that when villa come here a great player for us like James Chester will get a slight round of applause and a cartoon figure like mcshane gets that.
Least we didn't get Nigel give us a wave yesterday.

Just been reading the Sunderland board. There's talk of them going into administration. They had the 8th highest wage bill in the PL last season apparently. Even with a 40% reduction that's still mad for the championship.
