Naismith not on the bench, Trybull injured. Do I take it that Naismith is now not even considered for the bench or is he also injued?
That % tackles stats is astounding! That can't happen often/ever in a Season usually? Surely? That's very impressive. I like all 3 of them, and was wondering who would be dropped. The back 3, with the 2 wing-backs means all 3 can play. That is a good thing. If we sort out a Goal scoring Striker and maybe a pacey right winger, and don't sell anymore of our key players. We could start to create something. We also have to hope we don't sell Maddison, and hope he stays fit all season.
Decent ball from Vrancic. That has to be the first thing he has done. If he can push on like that. Maybe it wont be such a negative to start him! The build up and goal as a whole was fantastic. If that was Man City, MOTD would be all over that for about 15 minutes.
Norwich head coach Daniel Farke said: "We had a really thin squad today, but we had a special plan for this game and I have to congratulate my players because it worked perfectly. "It was a tough week for us, with two players leaving and some injuries. "This ranks up there with the best results we have had while I have been in charge." Sounds to me like a bit of a message to the board.
Before he is sold. Can we please have Maddison mentor Cantwell? Please ask Madders to take him under his wing for a bit. From what I have seen, out of all the academy players the past few seasons, Cantwell looks the closest type of player to Madders.
Madders is very happy to be at Norwich. It fits in with his career plans. I don't expect to lose him this window; maybe/probably in the summer. He has a very good head on his shoulders for a young man with so much self-belief.
Have to say guys,I find it strange where you sit in the league, thought you looked a tidy outfit with some excellent players on the pitch. You were counter attacking against us and it worked well, think you have taken us out of the equation for the second spot now. Three league games in a row lost that is a big concern.Derby will take the second spot.Us hope we can stay in the playoffs.
The 3 centre backs system seems to work but still we have little threat up front. Taking a glance at the table we are 13th and all 12 sides above us have +goal stats we are on -4 and all the sides below us are in minus figures. When you take into account we have probably achieved more clean sheets than the last 10 years we really are desperate for a goal scorer. I would sell Jerome and Nelson now as they still have resale value and either promote Abrahams or Fonkeu and buy the Lg 1 top scorer or some other Prem bench warmer or German.
I think Wes has helped Madders a huge amount and could do the same for Cantwell, but no reason why Madders couldn't help as well. With a new coach for attacking players now on board we may see improvements in all of our attacking players on a regular basis. Let's hope so. Strikers can always have a dip in form and that certainly seems to be where Oliveira is at the moment, but selling him or Jerome isn't the answer. I don't understand why neither Abrahams or Fonkeu were on the bench when both Jerome and Watkins weren't available. If DF doesn't think they're ready, then we should certainly bring in another striker option.
Spot on CS and I'm not sure he'll want to leave in the summer either with the game time he's getting at the age of 20. The time will come, certainly, but it'd be a shame to see him in some PL team's reserves (which would certainly be the case at either Spurs or Liverpool).
Jerome is 31 so he won't have any resale value after this season and Nelson is attracting attention from Fulham and Derby in this window , if we can get anywhere near double the money we paid then cash in. Neither have proved themselves this season and I would rather roll the dice and see if we can't get another Dean Ashton type signing. The Peterborough striker fits the bill and wouldn't break the bank .
I just put this on the 'youth & loanee' thread but JM fan will doubtless be pleased to see it - along with anyone else who goes to the under 23 games.
