Sickening that it was handball. We were awful second half though - tactics negative, despite the fact that Watford’s defence was terrible. But, if the officials did their job, we would’ve won that.
Shots in the first half 3-9 Saints, second half: 13-1. That tells you everything. We were superb in the first half then we just sat on the lead and tried to soak up pressure. Our players panic, pick up a stack of yellow cards and we end up losing shape and cracking. Brilliant first half and great commitment and determination by the players. Either the squad is not good enough or the managers tactics are dreadful.
Fun (?) stat of the day: we have outscored opponents 8-4 in the first 30 minutes of games this year. From that point on, we have been outscored 30-15.
What happened in the second half? Seems like we utterly crumbled. Season has so many shades of 04/05...
