One massive downside from last night IS IF NW can get players into the club, and they watch half hearted performances will they still want to come? IT could appear from the ouside that the club lacks ambition...personally, i would love to have seen Rangers progress as wins breeds confidence and a winning mindset.

Woke up this morning to hear Warnock openly admitting that he threw the game. I started this thread last night just guessing that he did but to hear him come out and say it is beyond belief, even by his standards. An absolute disgrace.

At least he was honest I suppose. And Watford_R, you're definitely not in the land of the living mate.

Ginger pal, do not let them get at you! I think you are right, how many were at Wembley in 1967 to see how our great RANGERS won the cup????? I know I am a little older then most but always remember that to see the further, read the past!!!! That is if them youngest know what I mean!!

Certainly Warnock is not alone in contributing to this debacle but he must take the lions share of the blame. What sort of manager makes it plain to his squad that the game they are about to play is of no importance? And with these comments both before and after the game did he have no thought whatsoever for the fans who travelled on a miserable evening and paid good money to watch? This was the kind of uncaring behaviour we would have expected of Flav & Bernie but note this is now the 'fan aware' era of Fernades, Mittal and most of all Warnock. Disgraceful really.

I'm not sure you can question his integrity. We have a (current) squad of limited quality, and I accept there are priorities and remaining in the PL is ours. I'm just happy that Tarrabt and Bothroyd got a run out and we didn't pick up any serious injuries (if taking Orr off was indeed a precaution).

****ing Hell, the other promoted teams all had worse results than us yet they're not in a state of anger and depression. Who cares about the Carling Cup, at the start of the season, everyone was saying how it didn't matter and now because we lost it's a catastrophe

Isn't it great with all the positive vibes around the club at the moment that we can still find something to be unhappy about.

Warnock - Integrity. Surely this is an oxymoron?

It isn't a straight choice though. With how pathetic our general squad seems to be, a couple of extra cup matches would actually have been good to assess where the back up players are at performance wise, to help players towards match fitness and winning games whoever it's against, always breeds a positive feeling around a club.

No excuses for losing to Rochdale with that team put out. Only thing for me is did Warnock tell them not to bother performing at all or were they just not good enough. I'm not sure what's worse.

Guys, we just got smacked at home by rochdale. Surely you can understand why fans are disappointed and frustrated? Yes I agree it's a mickey mouse cup but thats not the point. We played 46 games last season. It'll be 38 this season. Is it that difficult to tell our first XI to put in a few extra shifts?? How does getting knocked out of cup comps and playing 2-3 less games give us a better chance of survival? Still, in warnock we trust. There are surely better times ahead.

FFS this negative thread has no place today.
Only one thing matters this season and it ain't the ****ing league cup.

As an outsider (if I'm allowed to comment), I wouldn't say the defeat is the problem, or even NW's comments, as so few manager's regard the League Cup as anything more than just a run out of the squad players. The worrying thing would be the lack of motivation of these players! These people should be fighting for a place in the first team, to be playing the 'big guns'.

I know Watford lost last night, but a couple of the players we did bring in (Mirfin, Walker, Deeney) tried extremely hard to impress the manager and put their hands up for the next game! If it was the first team lacking motivation, you can kind of understand it, as their minds would be on the weekend - but back-up players not to try their hardest, this is the problem!!
