My problem with Tom is that for one reason or another he slows the pace of the game down with too many sideways or backwards passes. He has been our best midfielder and thats where the problems are, strikers can only score IF given chances in good positions.
Don't know much about woods but he sound like a good player. When our current crop get used to each other we will take over the world!! Or at least do better next season.
Yes he has been one of our better players. So why send him out on loan ? Send one of our worst players out. Evans anyone ?
I doubt that Cairney will be able to do it for 46 games and with a possible arrival of two new midfielders, it will be interesting to see if Pearson still plays him.
dont be silly. Evans is quality and needs to be played wide right(at least until Stewart is fit) like he does for Ireland. ya know, square pegs in square holes.
Just spoke to a friend who is a Chelsea fan, and they said that the reason why he was released is because he was injured last season and didnt feature much. Apparently he is a strong midfielder who will bring power to the midfield.
that can be ironed out. But Evans is noway near as bad as you say he is. Evans will get better the more games he plays. NP is assembling a quality squad. Just 3 or 4 more INS needed now.
Does anyone know if Woods is an attacking mid or a defensive one ? That would answer the question of who might be dropped.
Another midfielder though? We could field a starting 11 of just midfielders! Woods (if signed) , McKenna, Cairney, Harper, Evans, Barmby, Brady, Stewart, Koren, Devitt...you can never have enough midfielders!,
My question in situations such as this is always - how do you know we havent? I bet someone at City speaks to clubs about players every single day of the year.
Cairney is quality, yes he slows the pace of the game down, but he sprays balls left right and centre, he composes the team, and we create many chances, we just dont take them.. Cairney could easily play in the premiership, too good for our team with his style
