I think we might need a wild card, rather than another player quietly ready to conform to our lacklustre, soul destroying football ways. Bring the chaos.
It's never gonna happen but I would probably take it purely on comedy/entertainment factor. Would be great song potential too.
Not only is this a jonny shuttle thread that hasn't been shutdown shockingly it's gone on 4 pages! Now we're in the position of nearly believing him!
I know I was suprised. its great, I think Chilco is showing some serious discretion on this occasion in keeping with our dire situation - anything goes !
Sorry, LL. I clearly spend too much time with fans of NW clubs. Interestingly, his antics like driving around giving out cash to homeless people made him a bit of a cult hero. Mancs and Scousers like whacky people in general, so he was seen as "sound" as a bloke. As a player he wasn't rated that highly. Mind you, the bar is lower at Saints at the moment. Simple interview question for Mario would be does he think he might score more goals than Shane Long?
Yeah I remember the city song 'he drives around the Mossside with a wallet full of cash'. He's certainly a character.
When he was younger and playing for Man City he was regarded as a bit of a nut job off the pitch (though I'm sure he came out and said half the stuff written about him wasn't true) but he never did anything really bad as far as I can remember, like criminal levels like some other players, more just a young guy with too much money being an idiot. His on the field displays were massively inconsistent and he would lose his head and appear to give up or get sent off. Similar stuff at Liverpool though he was pretty terrible for them on the pitch and really looked like he couldn't be bothered. He was 23/24 there and still a relatively young man. He clearly has something as he was signed by Inter/Man City/Liverpool/AC Milan when he was regarded as having loads of baggage. He is like a better Osvaldo. Since being at Nice he has appeared to settle down off the field and on the field has 33 in 49 games for them, so is doing well on the pitch as well. Bottom line is he is a very talented player who gets a lot of stick for his attitude when he was a young player, appears to have settled down now and is playing more to what his talent deserves. No idea why I'm giving this rumour any time as he is way too good to be playing for someone like Saints now, if we wanted him we should've gone after him when his reputation was at rock bottom when he was released by Liverpool.
All right....I'm sold. So you've given me another player to be disappointed about when we don't sign him.
I was just about to reply to a post that I totally agreed with....then realised it was me. Would have been worrying if I didn't agree with it.
