Grego-Cox and Petrasso contracts terminated by mutual consent

I have just had an alert pop up on my phone from the QPR app informing me that these two have left. Always makes me a little sad to see young talent not develop and come through to the first team. Reality is that there is no way every young player QPR takes on will appear for the first team, but what happens to these guys now? Do they look for another club in the lower leagues, try with another club at the same level and see if it works out better, or look for something else to do in life?

I actually have no idea, but I always ponder the question when I hear that young players have been released so thought I would ask and see if anyone has any insight.

 

I’d imagine they’ve got something lined up but both were probably on decent money relatively especially Petrasso so agreed a lump sum with the club rather than going on loan or sitting in the reserves.

Both should be capable of having a career.

 

2 youngsters gone. Not sure whether they would really have been regular first-teamers but sad it hasn't worked out for them. Hollow will probably spend the money on Brett Angel.

 

They didn’t get much game time but made up for this with plenty of ink at the tattoo parlour.

 

They will both have agents looking to get them a deal somewhere

 

Lets hope they don't come back to haunt us.

 

Petrasso had a couple of chances. Personally I wasn’t massively impressed. Never easy when the Manager doesn’t play wide men wide.

 

Two players who made little impression in the time they spent with us. No room for sentiment, there's probably quite a few more who could follow them out the door. We have to do better both in scouting and coaching...

 

Grego-cox has signed for Woking.

 

He doesn’t play narrow men narrow either, although given half a chance he just might

 

Petrasso never really looked like much of a special player. There's no point in him being at QPR if he's not going to play as he's old enough now.

 

Why wasn’t it a free transfer?

 

Because Grego Cox wouldn’t have had the last few months of his contract paid up.
