Can`t remember much about him, very poor times but I arkse this question:
Was he a good dedicated player in a very poor side, or was he a poor player, in a very poor side?
    Thoughts anyone?

He was a great servant of the club, always gave 100% ..... but he wouldn't even get on to the bench of any side we've had over the last eight years.

A few worse fullbacks have managed it.

Played at a very diffrent level to the one we are at now so not very fair to compare
him to the players we have today, but would say good player at a lower level team.
As others had said always gave 100% and was probably the first name on the team sheet
    back then

Perry gave everything. If the squad we had last season showed half of Perrys commitment wed be in the PL now.

we have always seemed to have a player like pyscho at centre half at every level we have played at since I can remember. After psycho it was Scott Young, then came the Ginger Monster then Jolly Rog ( genuinley hope he gets an England call this'd season). Think Gerrard could be the next... All great servants to the club who would give 125%

Says it all 100% effort every time, not the greatest player in the world, but he'd run through a wall for us <ok>

We've had a few like that through the years Proph, I think Perry was a little better than people thought, never going to be 1st division but under estimate him at your peril.

I'd take a few with his dedication now.

He learnt in the Don Murray school of tackling <yikes>

My brother-in-law is over from Oz, and we are trying to work out an expedition to Fratton Park on the weekend, as it was his last away trip before emigrating.............we were reminiscing about the Don Murray goal at Pompey, class or what..............anyone else remember it? (silly question I know ;))

I have very few memories of individual goals from that era although it was at a time when I went to all games home or away, sadly the old grey matter not as good as it used to be.
