You're probably right, I'm just getting nearer and nearer a point of apathy. I'm already down to only watching NUFC games live - I don't even bother with MOTD, let alone any other club. And I'm only saying that, personally, I'll just force myself to sit back a bit more, because there's just no point actively supporting an Ashley-owned NUFC. Bad football is a given, failure inevitable and when Rafa finally hands in his notice, what then? We look to Charnley and Ashley to disappoint yet again? Not worth the frustration.
Will be interesting to see the backlash if this all goes south but for the time being I'm trying not to get excited/dejected over everything as like you say it takes up so much time and thought its really not worth worrying about as we can do sweet **** all about any of it. TBH if Rafa walks I won't be jumping for joy but you wont catch me crying over it either, especially if Mbemba and Mitro end up getting a chance.
With football it's always a question of who the replacement is. Andy Cole goes and in comes Les Ferdinand. Shearer retires and in comes Obafemi Martins. If someone leaves the important thing is who he is replaced by. So if Rafa goes I would wait to see if Gallardo is coming or if it is Warnock before drowning my sorrows and imploding.
I have just had a sudden thought of utter dread. Imagine if Rafa did walk and Ashley installed........ penfold as interim manager. On a serious note. I do wonder what is keeping Rafa at the club right now. He really could leave and go to a much better ran club. He would get the money as well so what is there. I always wondered if there is a clawback clause in his contract of salary or something if he left?
If I were Rafa I’d tell Mike I’m going on 31st Jan unless we either sell or funds are provided for transfers. The fat man is actively ****ting on Rafa and the fans. He is the Mackem and we are the seats.
He's paid a ****load of money. He is never going to get a 'bigger' job. He's idolised, in no danger of being sacked and close to his home. What the **** would he leave for? He's already won everything he's ever going to win. I'm not sure he's anywhere near as bothered as the media want us to believe. If he gets players, he'll be happier, sure. But if he doesn't, he'll get on with it. He does know other people have it worse than he does and he's sat on a possible goldmine if a takeover goes through, be it now or in the Summer. Look, even if we went down, we'd get taken over and - like Wolves - most likely buy the Championship again. Realistically it's impatience and hatred for Ashley driving opinion today. Reality is always a bit different.
the biggest shock we have had in recent years was rafa coming to us in the first place, there is no way we will get walcott, Sorry but just cant see this happening.
Not a chance, scousers looking for £30m for Sturridge and he's on £150,000 a week, another one off the list
Walcott......................... not a ****ing chance I bet there is a dozen clubs he would go to before he came here .................... which is just as well, because unless Arsenal are going to pay 99% of his wages, Ashley suddenly gains 1% ambition and Penfold becomes 100% less of a useless ****.............. it will never be an issue for us anyway.
I see ourselves and West Ham have a rather cunning plan to basically trade teams with each other and still both go down.
