Me too, never heard of him before but i am sure suarez must have given a good report on him so if he thinks he's good then hope we get him.
back in the 60s you had lots of apparently great footballers especially dribblers who were brilliant in the schoolyard playing with plastic balls. However, put them on a full sized pitch with a proper case ball and they struggled to pass it 5 yards. Even though I played RB, I took all of the corners because I was the only one who could be relied upon to deliver a good cross! Whilst i had a good shot on me I was not allowed to shoot from free kicks outside of the box because the teacher in charge of the team thought a shot from distance was a waste! If Messi had been around then, he would still rpobably be a very good palyer but his style would have been very different.
Kenny's new Coates: Dalglish set to beat Arsenal to signing Uruguay defender Liverpool expect to complete an £8million deal for Uruguayan defender Sebastian Coates by the end of the week and see off late interest from Arsenal. Mersey bound: Sebastian Coates looks set for Liverpool Coates, 20, was voted Young Player of the Tournament at the recent Copa America and has a towering reputation to match his 6ft 5ins height. Liverpool made a formal written bid to Nacional on Monday. Talks are still on-going but Nacional vice president Hector Olmes said: 'The offer (from Liverpool) is very good. Coates will surely go to Liverpool.' Liverpool will look to push through deals to offload Joe Cole, Alberto Aquilani, Christian Poulsen and David Ngog after they were left out of the squad to face Exeter on Wednesday. Bolton hope to land Ngog, Aquilani is wanted by AC Milan, while Cole is most likely to end up back in London with QPR retaining a strong interest. I admit I haven't seen much of him, but I have heard the name. At 6'5 then surely he's our replacement for Hyypia? Hopefully looks like he'll make a great partnership with Suarez too. Lucas just in front of him will also give him another South American to connect to, and hopefully lead a completely new attack from the defence through the middle. It will be interesting to see what happens to Skrtel after we sign Coates, Surely Carra, Agger and Coates will be first choice defenders so will Skrtel be happy with barely any games? especially after such a good last season.
That sounds very promising. I can definitely see this one going through, especially with Ayala and Soto leaving. He looks like a monster
Kelly is only 21 and he knocked England International Johnson out of the side, If Coates is better than our current defenders then he should be played.
I expect him to get 10 minutes here and there for a start, to ease him into it. Defence isn't really the best position for trying stuff out from the start of a game. If he impresses after a few sub apps, he may well begin to start a few games.
I've always agreed with this philosophy. When we are linked with players people often ask what will happen to 'so and so', bottom line is...if they are better than them then they will play.
No on a serious note Coates. You may remember i confirmed the Jose Enrique deal had gone through 2 hours before any media reported it. The same contact has just rang me with this information
