I think berardi has a fewo of the attributes for defensive midfield but probably not the first touch and passing... and he wouldn’t know his positional responsibilities. Seems more common for centre backs than full backs to switch for some reason, though Anita has done it in reverse.

Bellusci I also suggested would make a better defensive midfielder. He was a decent footballer and his mental aberrations would likely have been less costly at DM than CB.

Not sure Im happy about this as he has much worse numbers than Lassoga the last time I looked. i think his shots on target was only 38% and minutes per goal was over 200

We were heavily linked with Hugill in the summer... and he caused us problems at Elland Road earlier in the season. Word was then that Preston were ready to let him go and he wanted out... they’re in the play off mix though now so who knows.

Thing with Hugill is that he’s not prolific but he’s a physical presence, solid but mobile, works hard, holds the ball up. A few things their that neither lasogga or roofe offer in one player.

Hugill is a handful and would likely create an outlet, space and opportunities for others. Not saying he’s great, i’ve Seen little of him, but he offers something our currrent lot don’t.

He’s not a big lump target man... more of a poor man’s shearer without the goals... talk in the summer was of a fee way below what’s quoted but maybe that reading bid... if it was real and for that money.., has derailed all that.

I really haven’t seen a lot of him to form an opinion... merely repeating what i’ve Read/heard.

my best guess was in the summer, they knew the wood money was coming and thought... if lasogga gets motivated to get his career back on track we might have a ready made replacement on the cheap... and we’ll get a couple of squad players as back up.

Now they’re left looking at a bunch of flops/crocks that aren’t fit for purpose. Maybe they’re thinking if we actually had someone who could hold the ball up and help us relieve pressure when we’re under the cosh... who might pull defenders out of position and create gaps and bully defenders and make space for our other attacking players... and chip in with a reasonable amount of goals.

Don’t know if Hugill is the player we need, but his qualities would help the team more than the current lot can. He’s done a job at championship level. What price is he worth? Fook knows... only hindsight will tell us that!

Looking at the up to date stats for Hugill isnt good Im afraid, even though he has scored 8 but only 1 assist and you would think he should be doing more assists if Milkys summary is correct about holding the ball up for others picking up bits? The best value for money on the list is Gary Madine as he is a big lump scares defenders to death scores more goals than Hugill and has 5 assists too. Hugills goals per minutes is also nearing 300

Orta's view on signing of Ideguchi ...

    https://www.leedsunited.com/news/team-news/22849/victor-orta-on-yusuke-ideguchi-signing

In it is a telling comment about our DMs ...

"“We have seen good performances from Eunan O’Kane, Ronaldo Vieira and Kalvin Phillips, with Mateuz Klich also available for selection – therefore it might be hard for Yosuke to get the game time he needs in the build up to the World Cup".

    Don't think he's a fan of Klich.

This is brilliant news as Berardi or Anita can do the right with thew Belgium kid running the left. Wonder if we will bring back Lewie Coyle who is having a great season with Fleetwood. This transfer though does show intent and radz putting his money where his mouth is. The kid has around 70 Belgium U21 Internationals under his belt too

Until its on the O/S lets cool our gums.
Rads PR machine isn't usually the last to go public.
This will just about make up for the loss of Ayling and isn't a step forward yet!
