Can't blame them. They've been waiting for months, and now Roland seems to want a bidding war on his terms.
I suppose the bidding war favours RD's bizarre valuation of the club, as he can always move from one bidder to another. When one bidder goes (and unless i hear otherwise, none of them has any real emotional attachment to CAFC), he still has a better place to be than the buyers, but the fact that he wants to offload is also in play. Should another decide there are better offers for owning a footballl club out there, the third party becomes hugely powerfull. RD is losing money and his current transfer statement make tier 3 next season a huge possibility. He has enough money to just sit back and say 'fine, I'll keep the club', but that entails maintaining a constantly loss making business in his portfolio, and will certainly provoke another visit or tree to Belgium. As fans, we need this done as soon as posible. Roland needs the same thing in a normal world. Unfortunately he is an egoist, who still feels he is right and the rest of the world is wrong. Plus he owns the club. Not a good state of affairs, and you can see why KR is getting nervous as his CV looks like getting another failed season attached.
If people are crazy enough to get involved with a bidding war, that eventually reaches RD’s personal valuation then you’ll have the question their mental state. That or you then hope they have money to burn.
If the Club was valued at £18m in the Championship 4 years ago, what can it be worth now in League One? The training ground has not really progressed and the Valley has had several new coatings - of pigeon muck. The playing assets are demonstrably weaker than 4 years ago. The real value of Charlton must be £10m or less considering the dead weight of the debt,.
Tough question - RD did get the club at a bit of a discounted rate IMO. No matter what was published by RE at the time about the “genuine” worth of the ground and training ground, it was always under shot. RD’s investment to “keep us afloat” tells half the story. One of negligence, the other half us misplaced trust and investment. Any potential buyer should not be looking to pay for those mistakes. If the figures quoted are accurate, £50M+ is a horrible figure. But given our commodities, I think £10M on top of the £20M Rd paid (initially) is a fair figure. For someone who understands the potential. For someone wanting to get a foothold in football then that’s where I’ll start to worry. This is of course my opinion, and put across with no knowledge of anything going on in regards to a potential takeover.
I’ve just seen the Sheff Wed owner (Chansari?) being interviewed on Sky. In so far as someone worth millions can be clueless, this guy really does sound clueless. It begins to make sense why he appointed a CEO who is similarly clueless. As for Meire, I bet she can barely believe her luck. Another ageing sugar daddy with more money than sense, no doubt taken in by her silly giggle and low cut tops. You have got to hand it to her. Just watch Sheff Wed slump now with those two in charge.
Nope. Or the BBC. I am a Fox TV man - it’s the only news channel you can trust. ( @SuperChrissyisfantasticPardswasatrocious)
According to David Smith on CL The Aussie Muir has not withdrawn, he's done his DD, made his bid and is waiting while the Scottish Muir does his DD and prepares his bid. Muir is a famous name. Thomas Muir of Huntershill is a Scottish hero of mine. Interestingly there is a monument to him in the cemetery at Nunhead. My very first football hero was Billy Muir, a speedy winger for Kilmarnock.
Good article from Rick Everitt. Gives out more information. http://www.votvonline.com/home/the-...t-muir-in-takeover-talk-has-charlton-history/
He would probably claim he already is on here. A master of disguise is BB, among many other things...
Roland could follow Mike Ashley's example, and pull out if no-one meets his absurd valuation. It would be no surprise.
I am not sure what Murray can say to the ST??? I am sure the Belgian treats him like a mushroom .... feeding him 5hit to keep Muzza a quiet little boy.
