... but they didn't really try to push it though tho', did they? ... were you aware that Real Madrid tried to hijack the Coutinho deal at the 11th hour and put in a bid of £177 million? ... but Coutinho was adamant that he wanted to go to Barca ...

You say that but some players generate so much money for the club with shirt sales and such, I've heard barca earned the Ford money back already In shirt sales for example, business wise some players are worth that money, sport wise it's obscene

I read somewhere just the other day that the shirt sales thing is a complete myth ... it just doesn't happen ... fans who have already got a replica shirt for the season just don't rush out to buy another with a new player name on it ... whilst I can't confirm that, one way or another, it does seem to have some logic ... if you are sporting your Messi shirt you are not suddenly going to run down to the club shop and get a Coutinho one ... that said ... the 2 or 3 fans that have the Jordan Henderson shirt that their least favourite uncle got them on the cheap, might well want to swap for a Dick van Dyke shirt, I guess <whistle>

As a Saints fan there's no point getting any name on a shirt <laugh>

Not that I personally would anyway but for everyone I mean.

Ward-Prowse? Played nearly 200 games and he's still only recently turned 23.
From Portsmouth and probably next up for a move to Liverpool! <laugh>
