Chip shop curry sauce is a hybrid but of neither Indian nor Chinese curries. It's basically a spicy gravy with a few raisins chucked in. It's just one of those things that is essentially crap but tastes great.
I don’t know what’s more weird, having curry sauce with fish and chips, or having curry sauce with raisins in it.
I was gonna say the same... I’ve never had curry sauce on fish and chips but I know some people like it - fair enough - but curry sauce with raisins in? What fresh hell is this? Never ****ing heard of it. For the record I am partial to curry sauce on pattie n’ chips but if it had raisins in I’d shove it back in their faces and tell them to **** of.
He’s talking nonsense and you’re completely correct - curry sauce has no resemblance whatsoever to any kind of curry ever made. Take the solids out my arse* * not to be taken literally before anyone says it.
There'a a PhD in this for somebody, 'How any football-related discussion topic will always end up as a fish, chip and curry sauce debate'.
My local chippy doesn't put raisins in their curry sauce, thank god. I do have curry with my fish and chips though. I know it sounds wrong but it's really nice.
Both are very wrong . Never seen curry sauce with raisins from a chippy but we did have it for school dinners , maybe it was supposed to be an actual curry but it was curry sauce with raisins .
A chippy on Endike lane used to have it as an option. Standard curry sauce or I think they called it Indian. That was 35 years ago.
Curry sauce with chips is fine as a cheap option. But putting it anywhere near fish? No way. What's the point of buying fish if you can't taste it?
Chips , peas, gravy , open in a tray. There's nowt wrong with fish , chips and gravy if you keep the gravy away from the fish. Does anyone think KFC gravy is more like curry sauce ?
Hate KFC. It's all the parts of a chicken you never knew it had covered in breadcrumbs. Lips, buttocks and rude bits.
