This is the gods honest truth, last night I tried to get on 5 live After the Forrest vs arswipe game to thank mr wenger for the ****ing **** team he put out and getting beat, wanted to say We will definitely Get Forrest in the next round, it’s just fate, when I told them I was a Hull City supporter, they wouldn’t let me go on bastards.. Cannot wait to take my grandson to the game, especially as his Dads team are out,...Leeds.....ha ha ha ha...
It clashes with huge game between Scarborough Athletic v Prescot cables So expect a low crowd at the kcom
Good draw: At home Winnable Non-embarassing exit if defeated Round 5 is around the time it starts to get serious - as we pull away from the bottom filth, we'll need the cup to keep our season in season.
this mean we will win the fa cup we get arsenals opponents.. of course we do but with no arsenal we can't be stopped
Good draw, getting an home tie against another championship side. Great chance to reach last 16. They will bring a decent following. Just got to start winning a bit more now
Much like last time if we make the final we'll have the 'it was an easy path to the final' guff. Oddly in years gone by we've had scores of easy paths in the FA Cup, but seem to have taken lots of wrong turns! The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
It's all fine and dandy until the hammer blow, 'the midfield was running out of steam' very concerned about this and not a quick fix as it happens every match so unless we're 3 goals up we convert draws into losses and wins into draws
Last time we beat Forest in the FAC - 4th Rnd Feb 66 W 2-0 - we went on to lose against Chelsea in a replay in the 6th Rnd. 3 of the teams we beat in that years cup run are no longer in the top 4 leagues - Bradford Park Ave, Gateshead and Southport. We also beat Southampton en route to Stamford Bridge. I sniff a whiff of history repeating itself, without playing a non-league team this time
I was at that game, and when the teams were announced Houghton out and Heath in, and I think it was this game Brown played left back instead of Dennis Butler. I thought we had little chance, but won it 2-0.
I don't mind this draw. In fact I said immediately before our ball was picked with about 10 left "I'd take Forest at home." Obviously there's more exciting ties but I was thinking about it being a reasonably winnable tie. We generally seem to win at home in these early round cup games, and lose away (unless we're playing a lower league side). I think when it's two teams in the same division the away side probably finds the tie and the trip sufficiently uninspiring that their performance levels subconsciously dip.
If nothing else a draw such as this gives you a better than evens chance of progressing to the next round. You don't win the FA Cup by drawing the massive clubs round after round. Best to wait until the big boys have been knocked out then beat the minnows who've just had their day in the sun.
