The odds on Arsenal winning a competitive trophy in the next 5 years are longer than me being killed by the filthy rebels

 

You've more chance of surviving another week than Spurs have of winning the league in another 50 years

 

As much as we would like to think that science is all about the quest for greater knowledge, science lives in the real world and as such is subject to real world forces the big one being economic forces. Research requires money so a team of scientists will try and find the perfect cup of tea as they have been paid to by P&G or such so that they can gaina competitive advantage and increase profitability. Cures for cancer etc require massive research which in turn requires massive funding, the only people who can provide such funds are the pharmaceutical firms who will onlycontinue to fund as long as a return on investment exists. Its sad that thousands of people's lives will essentially be given a death sentence from some board members looking at graphs and forecasts but that is just the way the world works.

Even at that it still provides people with useful help on the level of religion x 10 to the par of infinity

 

The desire to live in the past that gooners have with the last 50 years when there were no moneybags owners like Abramovich and Mansour is not predictable but understable, especially given the current circumstances

 

Science is not perfect but we know it actually exists and is not a myth.
God is perfect but unfortunately does not exist and is a myth.

If science is not perfect and there is no creator (not necessarily the biblical God) then where do the other planets/species on earth originate from

 

Just because science is in the process of discovery and there remain many intrinsic questions it cannot explain yet doesn't mean the logical conclusion is magic sky man dunnit

The point is that neither religion or science can explain how the existence of the universe came to be

 

Whether you believe the science or religious argument it is all suposition

both religion ( and by this i mean religions not just christianity) and science offer an explanation as to how the universe came to be

Its which one you accept to be true

most people have little understanding of either imo, hence the arguments
