Varney's exit looks like coincidence, he may even have been sacked, judging by the perfunctory message from Ebbsfleet. Sorry, TFM.

    I think it does.
Can only speak for the time I've been active here (less than a year) but I don't see any member here being picked on by a whole group of other members just for voicing an unpopular opinion.

Granted, we are all broadly of a similar opinion regarding the RD regime, and I'm not saying folks here don't occasionally fall out.
But I get the impression that even if a member here did put forward unpopular or controversial views (not obvious wumming) that they might be challenged on those views, but would not be subjected to mass bullying.

It was good to see the Professor of Football, Lennie Lawrence, back in the Newport dug out

Lennie would go anywhere for a pound note & is not the most likeable of people, but his longevity is a testament to his footballing nous. He even persuaded Dougie Freedman to get a new syrup. We could have made use of him back at Charlton over the last few years.

Lennie and you would get along well methinks!<laugh>

Forget all the success under Curbishley, Lawrence is THE man. To keep us up for so long, coupled with the most defining result in our history at St Andrews. I'd eat the geezers poo tbh.

Btw Chippy, were you one of the 16,000 pricks wearing those silly white hats that night?:emoticon-0160-movie

An electrician who did some work at The Valley told me that he was a really nice bloke, very genuine and unassuming.

    I was.
Were you one of the three Charlton fans at the far end.

I was also one of those hundreds if not thousands late for the playoff leg at Selhuers Park because of a motorway closure.

I think you'll find there was more than three of us. But then we're a little old Club from South London, rather than the Metropolis that is Leeds.

We made enough noise when the Yorkshireman's second goal went in and your boys started dismantling the fencing.

Yes of course, I was among the 1500 we had that night.

I was also part of a group of about 30 walking towards the Bull Ring and were applauded by the waiting Zulu's(this after they thought they had found Leeds<laugh>)

When I came out of the Stadium I was expecting a good kicking. It nearly happened, but managed to get out and back to the car in one piece. Other times I have shat myself at Charlton games. Every game at Cold Blow Lane. Game against Chelsea at the Valley when they lit a bonfire, smashed up the turnstiles and Valley club. Spurs at the Valley when Millwall infiltrated the Covered end. Sheffield Wednesday in the FA cup when bricks flew and it kicked off outside. Time against Porsmouth at the Valley when my Dad was trying to break up a fight between Charlton and Pompey fans and my Brother and I had to drag him out.
