I think he’s a very good player but I just don’t see where he fits in. How do we get him, Toral and Irvine in the same team without resorting to square pegs?

It's a tough one, some players are going to have to settle for the bench. We have Grosicki, Toral, Evandro, Irvine and Bowen (and Henricksen, I guess) all fighting for the 3 positions behind the striker.

We may sell Grosicki and/or Bowen and Irvine can drop a little deeper but it's a nice problem to have.

Just read a few Blackburn supporters opinions. They listened to the game via Humberside and enjoyed the commentary. Go figure.

Bowen & Turbo provide the pace to frighten defences wheras Evandro & Toral play clever through balls and link ups. Irvine is more of a hanful player with the ability to unsettle defenders too. We don't need Henricksen.

    Ideally I'd have:

    Abel Campbell Irvine

    Bowen Evandro/Toral Turbo

    4 defenders

    McGregor

For me that midfield would get absolutely smashed. One of Meyler, Larsson, or to a lesser extent Stewart, have to play.

I agree you need to have a balanced side, and you need a Meyler or Stewart in there to do the dirty work. Certainly when fit, the best attacking midfielders are Toral/Evandro/Irvine, Henriksen shouldn't get a look in if they are all fit, whether there is room for all 3 in the same team is doubtful.

I didn't understand why they couldn't get their own commentary nationally, are the BBC so cheap now or are the rights to broadcast so convoluted?

Blackburn are covered by Radio Lancashire. They chose to broadcast Preston and Burnley on different wavelengths. There wasn't a local live coverage of Blackburn. There were only updates on Radio Lancashire. Even after the match, it was thirty minutes before they discussed the game. They were more interested in Fleetwood, Accrington and Morecambe. There used to be Radio Rovers but Blackburn closed it down last summer and forced people to listen to their version of Tigerplayer if they wanted live commentary. Mowbray said he was disappointed not to have won as he thought the team he had put out was good enough but conceded that we were a "good team". Kevin Gallacher was one of the pundits. He said he saw Blackburn players leaving the car park at 5.15. I don't think they were too upset.

On Evandro. I thought he was the best player on the pitch. Very assured. Really good touches, Toral's corners are much more threatening than Bowen's. Henrikson gave it more of a go than usual but I wouldn't start him. With Toral and Evandro, we tend to try to play through the middle of the defence and come unstuck around the D when we run into a combined midfield and defence barrier. That's what Bolton did. There was very little space between their midfield and defence so it was hard to find a way through. They crowded us out. Blackburn were similar but there was a bit more space. There were plenty of positives. Max Clarke was very solid. I think it was him who exceeded Row Z near the end and got the ball on the stand roof. No messing there. The last ten minutes were fraught, more so than they needed to be but by that time Evandro and Stewart were off and our midfield was running out of steam.
