He’s doing better than Arsenal and Liverpool. And I thought it was difficult putting an expensive squad together.

Not sure what you mean by ‘terrible football’ either.

It is, that's why he's spent practically the same as Man City but is 15 points behind already.

I’d be interested to read total fees spent on all the players in each of the ‘Big 6’ squads.

I wouldn't, I've got far better things to be doing.

Let's leave it at that, you don't rate Pep, I do, neither of us are changing our mind anytime soon.

Do you mean thinking for myself rather than just swallowing what the media peddles?

    Yep, guilty as charged.

Wait, people can't agree with what the media are saying and think for themselves?

I love you bummers but I really don't think it's the UK media's fault that Italy's justice system went a bit nuts and convicted an innocent man.

Thanks for the kind words but I meant the reporting of his conviction. In much the same was as Calciopoli was misreported, media here have claimed that Conte was found guilty of match fixing when he was never even accused of it, never mind found guilty.

He was accused of telling his players to draw a match in a pre-match teamtalk.

He was accused of not reporting to authorities that he’d been asked to fix a match.

Didn't he try and strike a plea bargain at some point? Obviously did something wrong if he did.

Yep initially, under advice from his lawyers.

He did do something wrong, he failed to report that he’d been approached to fix a match. There’s been no denying that he did something wrong, what he didn’t do was fix a match or be found guilty of fixing a match.

Well you never know who has or hasn't fixed a match in reality, regardless of whether they've been found guilty of it.

    I bet it's fricken rife.

Well yeah, technically of course that’s right. Same goes for every manager and player.

He was definitely also accused of match-fixing. I only know because the other day I watched the video of his press conference from the time when he was ranting about it. It was clearly a big accusation that when managing Siena he told his players to draw a game. It doesn't matter because it was all false but he was definitely accused of it.

Actually on reflection I think you’re right. From memory the fixing charges were completely dismissed and he was punished for failing to report that he was approached re a fix.

Conte should have kept out of it. The media have stirred this up and have exactly what they wanted.
