I've given up on that one FML and SW/DF has BETTER not sell him, as he's the natural successor to Tettey. I was raving about him in the Under 23s last season and he can play in various positions.
I posted this on the Youth thread but will post it here as well: Ben Godfrey was BBC's MotM () against West Ham and deservedly so after a very classy but also solid performance. I could see him slotting right in at DM next year. Carlton Morris also had a very hard-working performance up front in the manner of Jerome, holding up the ball and laying it off. He's more of a 'target man' type, so hard to say how it'll go for him next season.
He was the one who came off better in a clash of heads but ended up with a Terry Butcher style bandage for the rest of the match.
Exactly Rick and I also enjoyed watching Morris last season and thought he was a key player when we won the FA Youth Cup. I certainly hope that both players will be part of the first team squad next season. If they're not, then all this talk by SW/DF about 'developing young talent will just be a lot of 'hot air!!!' And yes FML, who can blame them if they wanted to leave and play for a club/manager/head coach who appreciates their skills/talent!!!
Trouble is SW / DF didn't identify or recruit most of the players coming through, so even though we have good players coming through, who may be able to do a job at championship level, it doesn't mean they are going to suit the style / tactics DF wants to play. I'm not convince that Morris style will fit into our team. The academy will hopefully pay for itself, however that doesn't mean academy players have to make it through to our first team.
Nice to see the fans and players in accord after the game! http://www.pinkun.com/norwich-city-players-sing-along-with-fans-1-5345939 Great stuff!
