I think it's the same side Roberto Carlos plays for isn't it?

Pretty bad problems with racism if it is, Bobby C has had a few bananas chucked at him in his time over there...

Crazy money. They are in a really dodgy area of Russia and train over 1000 miles away from their 'home' with the owner flying them from Moscow to their matches. Good last pay day for Samuel though.

Always has been its all oil and gas money. Zenit for example are owned by Gasprom which is state owned gas firm hence why they have so much money thrown at them by the state to bring success to the country and why they have been successful as of late.

Over thirty six pounds a minute.

That figure is based on him being paid ever minute of every hour of every day all year-round .
That's after tax as well .

Wrong time to get a 'last minute payday' IMO.

He's only just turned 30 and is still quality. Maybe should have waited a year or two, although I suppose there was no guarantee he'd get that sort of offer in 12 or 24 months time.

Just like Bullard. If the club are daft enough to pay it then the player is even more dafter to accept it. Which Eto has.
It will only end in tears or maybe worse i fear ?

They'll be in the Champions League within a couple of years. Imagine the other players who will follow him there now.

Good deal for the Nerrazurri too ahead of the financial fair play rules as this has added £99million to their budget (comprising transfer fee and saved wages) which for a 30 year old is not to be sniffed at. He did what he was signed to do ie win them the Champions League so he can go now.

They are after Vidic for 25millions now, if I was Man U i'd take the money, Jones looks like a phenomenal buy- instant refund on the aging Serb!

Why if Vidic goes and Ferdinand is injured they have Jones Smalling and Evans at centre half, yes they are all class but not much back up and highly doubt United need to sell, and it is a complete rumour. Vidic will stay as united captain for years.

Vidic is only 29, he's probably not even peaked yet ability wise.

I'd definitely take the money for Vidic, thats as much as they will ever get for him now. Was watching Barcelona last night and they seemed to have no defenders at all in the team, maybe Man U would manage with Smalling/Jones and Evans as cover, with the Da Silva bros and Evra as full -backs. They must have some other defenders under the radar too.
