well.... tbh they over play him but my point is salah and kane are the main men. firmino has contributed more I sincere,y doubt it happened. It's just digging the boot in.
I don't think we'll sign anyone till summer for a number of reasons. January is an expensive time to buy anyway, selling clubs can smell desperation and by halfway through the season everyone knows what everyone needs. Selling clubs now know we have £105m sitting waiting to be spent, gouging time, players suddenly become far more expensive. And nobody really wants to sell mid-season anyway, what happens if there is an injury crisis and you've sold a couple of players you could really do with.
Well didn't the Turks put 2 mil on that lad Everton bought just cos after agreeing 25 and Everton paid? There will be gougers no question.
Anyone suggesting it's no problem is in denial, but as the above shows, we can cope without him - will certainly need someone else in imo It's not like Mane last year when we couldn't win a game unless he played!
I agree. We need to have picked out the right player already as this departure should not be a shock. It's a matter of availability
Salah is the main man... but mane is also vital. In the end can we win 10 of the last 16 league matches? Can vvd shore up the back and can we supply salah? Those are the main questions.
Should have bought before we sold. Makes me wonder if sky larker is right about this replenishes what we spent on VVD and Keith
It'll added to next seasons transfer budget, meaning it'll get lost alittle in whatever money is set aside for transfers 2018/19. Summer also represents better value for money (just) as clubs have more chance to react without having to handle fixtures at the same time and are more willing to sell. Its also a longer window so gives more time to negotiate or find alternatives.
Our main issues this season have been not winning games when we've already scored 2/3 goals - you'd think VVD will have something to say about that now. Will we still have the creativity to consistently score 2/3 goals? I genuinely think the answer is yes
It logically adds up. Keita coming next summer, vvd in January. Did klopp spend last summer's money on ox? 35mil... We had spend about 80mil on ox, robertson, Solanke, salah... We pulled in about 37 mil on the sales. Add in 2mil fee on Keita paid upfront Until ox came it looked like we had no money. So a net spend last summer of 45mil or so Suddenly we buy vvd for 75mil and Keita has 50 odd mil or so to be paid. It's a case of we knew we were negotiating for coutinho so bought vvd for every penny Southampton wanted.. That's clear. What's not clear is how much of that is paid for by coutinho... we cant know until the accounts come out in 2 years time Or lfc spend 100mil net in a transfer window
There are very clear games there that a firing side should win. We would need mane to start firing on all cylinders and link with salah.... and vvd to shore up that back line. Last year with lucas at back we could win enough games cos we toughed it out. I hope we can set out a strong line with vvd and score enough off ox, lallana, mane, and firmino supplying salah... tbh we are well enough off there. It is actually not bad. 3 comps to play .... if we can win the Swansea and Huddersfield games and draw v city at home we will have done well.
Yeahhhhhhh only if we are 3 up with 2 mins to play. A lot of sides have gone close to getting a result v city but they've kept going and scored. They play league cup semi midweek?
Coutinho was one of those players who had something "different/special" which makes you pay attention when they have the ball . He could be a magician with the ball . now we will just operate in a different way until the "replacement" arrives. As RHC would say C'est La Vie
Puel has reinvigorated him by giving more of a free role ... last seaso teams were able to double sometimesbtriple team on him when he got the ball out on the touchline ... he needs to be constantly involved to get the very best from him ......
