Foreign owners strike again, only in charge for 9 months and they were mid table, don't know what more they expect
I guess rightly of wrongly they want their own man , so to speak. That's not to say I agree , as he seems to be doing reasonably well , and as experience shows sometimes it's best to give a manager time.
Johnson Junior is a very lucky man that the owner is in love with him, At any other club he would have been sacked last season.
Or you could say we have a owner that doesn't knee jerk like most of the fans after a slump in form and has the ability to see the positives of what Junior was trying to do! That's not luck, that's good judgement.......maybe why he's a billionaire and we're not!
It was mentioned on BBC today on the Newport v Leeds game. One of the pundits said he would like to see others take a leaf from SL’s book.
And we are very lucky SL didn't take the approach you are advocating, look where we are now, he obviously knew something we didn't.
' Was at Brentford in February 2011, serving as a coach and sporting director until being appointed manager in December 2013. He led the club from League One to promotion to the Championship in the 2013–14 season and finished the following season with the club's best second-tier placing for 80 years'. It was amazing the achievments he made, the team and players he produced and his successes, look at him now but his cv will show 1 promotion and the highest finish for his club in 80 years.
No argument there, a lot of the groundwork must have been due to his planning, by the way I'm not drawing any comparisons, just expressing thoughts.
Bit like GJ did for us, but both failing with clubs there after.. some managers seem to suit certain clubs.. I acknowledge that you weren’t drawing comparisons wiz but I’m just happy that SL stuck with his decision..
SL held his nerve much longer than I would have done. I’m all for giving a manager a chance and not constantly hiring and firing, but I admit Lee would have gone if I had had my way last season. One of the examples where I’m pleased to say I seem to have been wrong. If we can get through the current ‘wobble’ and stay in the top 6 I would be very happy. Break back into the top 2 again I’d be over the moon! Warburton won’t be out of work long.
I've been trying since 1982 to catch him up! failed... worth probably the interest he gets in a month!
we wont do that my very original prediction had us on 6th I revised it down to mid table, would love to be able to revise it back to 6th where I am hoping we finish!
TBF Wasn't 'One of the managers touted for us last season', Gary Rowett, mentioned for the Stoke job ?
Think there were few speculating the replacement of LJ.......mainly via our own supporters, especially the haters!! It's a bit strange as when I posed the question "who would be better, that was available" the struggle for names was comical!!
