Lack of motivation is down to the manager, lack of coaching staff influence on/advice to manager (watch np standing alone on match days) and no leader on pitch
Percy is very typical of many students these days, it's a generation thing. He has never had to consider a decent argument in his educational life due to the dumbing down of the education system. Instead of having to research a point, kids just google instead which leads to really poor thinking skills. Even doing a degree in maths doesn't mean he has good reasoning skills, the universities admit that the degrees are becoming more like the A levels of 20-30 years ago. Finally consider how youngsters are being allowed to think they are right all the time, in the past we were told we were wrong unless we had a watertight case for our opinion. Nowadays they rely on their on very blinkered views. All in all: Percy's "arguments" are an excellent example of how our society has "developed" in the last 40 years.
This, of course, is the problem. To an extent I agree with Percy. Bullared was an exceptional player who could have played for a top half premiership team. So why didn't he? Because he wasted his talents. As a top professional (footballer) you have about 10 years. Jimmy has been pissed (or worse) for half of them. Ask yourself why the limited interest now (two premiership clubs said his agent and he's trying to big him up!). Wigan, Blackburn, QPR? Those are the three "main" names in the frame. Now name the three premiership sides likely to be relegated. List look familiar? Same three sides? We took a chance on him - and lost. Fulham warned us, but couldn't get rid of him fast enough. Wigan, Blackburn, QPR? All chancers. Because that's who Jimmy attracts. Chancers who hope he'll be the Messiah. Well he isn't. He's a very naughty boy. And where ever he goes he'll end up letting them down. And himself. Not his fault, he's like a moth to a flame. Drawn to trouble. Personally? Well Good Luck Jimmy! 'Coz your going to ****in' need it, just because of your own weak nature. The little boy who couldn't say no. Shame. But you can't change your nature. Shame. Because your talent will wither without use. Shame. Because you let down fans who wanted to Hero Worship you. Shame. But mostly because you could have done what we all wanted to, but didn't have the talent. You did and you've pissed it all awy. Shame on you.
What a load of **** Percy! I doubt the poor performances are down to the Bullard saga. Surely the players will be more bothered about themselves, playing well on the pitch and earning their starting place. Granted none of this is really happening at the moment, but i doubt that much of the current squad have little affiliation with Jimmy due to him hardly been here while they have been. They're not stupid and probably know he was a bit of a loose cannon and got what he deserved.
Horsham Tiger, there's much in your post that I would agree with. I teach in a university and may I say that he's not typical of the students I've encountered over 20 years! I've never seen or heard that from anyone in the sector. Not that I would agree with it anyway.
You're right, I can never hope to come up with such arguments such as "**** off and die" or "I don't agree, therefore you are a moron" or even the best tactic of completely ignoring a posters a point, and attacking the poster personally. I'm taking it you never got to go to university? Or if you did, you're clearly stuck in the past, times change, skills needed change, technology changes, but apparently some people don't. If you think the education system should be reverted to how it was 40 years ago then you need to go and take a long hard look at yourself, and get out the past. If you want to paint me as a typical student, fine, because I am. Though I have absolutely no problem with that whatsoever, I went to university to get a higher paid job than I otherwise would've got, that's what I've done.
Come on Thomo get him on your ignore list . I find it both cathartic and slightly amusing to have Perry's messages blocked. He's such an attention seeker that it will no doubt wind him up to know some of us can't see his posts . It's also a bit like having a tooth that's giving you grief pulled out .
I had him blocked before but found he posts on so much stuff half the threads made no sense, so decided to take him with (a very big) pinch of salt.
Lack of motivation somebody asks is that down to bad management. I cannot be bothered to go back and see who. Motivation to me is down to the player. We hear the pundits on the TV talk about a motivating team talk from a manager 99% of the time the manager in question is an old team mate and they are just brown nosing. Motivation comes from within and is down to the player. Do you think Ian Ashbee, Nicky Barmby or Tony Adams etc ever needed a manager to motivate them? Assuming you do a good job at work is that down to any motivating factor (money excepted) from your manager or was it down to you wanting to do a good job? I have not seen any of the matches this season but the reports I have received from Saturday sound like most of the matches I watched last season in that we had a lot of possession often across the park or back until eventually somebody lost patience and it was a long ball down field. I agree these performances can look like players are not motivated but I think that gives a false impression. We need to get the ball forward quicker (not necessarily the long ball) before teams have a chance of organising. Currently they have so much time that even poor teams can defend against us. We need more movement and certain players need the freedom to roam the pitch. In the games I saw last season we were too predictable you could guarantee where the wide midfield the central midfield would be. Let us get midfield players beyond the strikers the faster players if we have any running at the centre backs. I was pleased to hear NP state that we have to rethink how we play currently we are so slow that teams can organsies, reorganise and have a cup of tea before the ball gets near their penalty area. Finally regarding Bullard do we know he has been treated badly? I have worked with people who were disruptive and the general feeling was that they got away with too much perhaps our players are delighted that he has not got away with whatever he has done again.
if i had a colleague that earned 4/5 times more than i do for doing **** all for over a year, i'd be more than happy to see him getting sacked.
I very much doubt that anyone at Hull City is crying about Bullards departure. When he went to Ipswich last season and Ashbee also departed it was widely reported by the local media that the atmosphere improved 100%. Plus Andy Dawsion and Jack Hobbs have already said how good the team spirit is. No more bad eggs. No more Bullard. When are you moving from Hull then Percy ? is it London or Ipswich ?
