Disagree mate. It is not a lack of ambition to pay what we can afford. If we have £120-150 k per week available then I would rather give Kane Dele Toby Etc pay rises to sign new contracts. Chelsea do not need him. They have bought him to stop others getting him imo. He will play a bit part at best imho. Maybe he will go on to be a world beater (good luck to him if he becomes a girst team regular there) but that is far from certain so therefore it is a serious risk...and a very expensive one. In my opinion he is not worth it.
Random Ligue 1 Starlet Watch Apparently we're in the market for more than one pacy Ligue 1 winger of African descent, as we're being linked with Lyon's Willem Geubbels - who I sincerely hope doesn't have a brother named Joseph...
DON'T READ THIS: RCL HAS SAID IT ALL 5 MINUTES EARLIER Chelsea are paying him somewhere between £120k to £150k per week. We don't pay Harry Kane that much because currently we don't have it. There's just no chance that we could pay that to Barkley without having mutiny on our hands. If we're going to pay that salary to anyone, I'd rather it was Harry Kane, Dele Alli, Christian Eriksen, Toby Alderweireld, etc. They've earned it from us. Chelsea's income is well over £100m more than ours per season, as is their spend on wages. Failing to match their spending only denotes our current income not our ambition. The stadium and increasing revenues from UEFA competition and better commercial deals will enable us to start catching up. We haven't had £1.5 Billion pumped into the club to 'financially dope' it. It does make a big difference.
More of the Same Old Same Old Reports are suggesting that we're looking at making a move for Porto striker Moussa Marega. Similar to the reports from March 2017... Or from November 2016...
I still wonder why he pulled out of signing for chelski early on in the season then signs for them yesterday. I personally don't think he was worth the gamble for us he would take the rest of the season to get back to match fitness and he wasn't setting the world alight before he was injured.surely it must be a money thing with him double his wages yes but he won't be at the world cup sitting on chelseas bench so that tells me he is a greedy fecker.
FootballDotLondon have decided to connect the stories saying we're listening to offers of £30m for Sissoko to bids for Sessegnon and Malcom. I'm deciding to link the story that we're listening to bids for Sissoko to Evertson apparently pulling out of a bid for Jean Michel Seri. So where's my ad revenue?
There's a rumour floating about that it was all a ploy by Barkley and his reps and Chelsea. From what I gathered. Instead of Chelsea paying £30m in the summer and paying Barkley X amount. They decided to wait til Jan, where they knew the fee would be less and thus willing to pay Barkley higher than the previous X amount while also saving money overall themselves.
According to sky we are after kondogbia a french international to replace dembele. ..don't know anything about him myself but I'm a bit worried about signing any more french players after sissoko .
As I've said every single time we've been linked to him this season, he's on a season-long loan at Valencia - so, no, we will not be making a move for him in January.
There would seem to be 2 options that are possibly available to us for a deep-lying midfield place - Seri or Andre Gomes.. Both are said to be available and I doubt either would have wage demands anywhere near Barkley. I doubt that we'll buy anyone but will try for Sessegnon and maybe Dembele from Celtic......and not succeed.
Based on the statement on their website, Everton don't seem too sorry to see Barkley go The 24-year-old midfield player, an Academy graduate, was handed his first-team debut as a 17-year-old against Queens Park Rangers in August 2011, going on to make 179 appearances for the Blues and scoring 27 goals. Barkley has not played for Everton this season after undergoing surgery on a hamstring injury. In other news, looks like the Turkish press were wrong. Again.
That sounds exactly right. By staying half a season at Everton the fee gets cut in half and half the saving ends up in Barkley's pocket.
If true that's an insult, Pool have just got £105m + add ons for a player who has done nothing then offered £55m for a player who was instrumental in a league win? They have to be on something special that doesn't come as a smoke
I think Mahrez will end up at Arsenal and Alexis Sanchez will be sold to Man City. Liverpool have Mane, Firmino, Lallana and Salah and although losing Coutinho is a massive blow, they would be better off signing a keeper and/or another defender.
from Sky 'SERI SET TO LEAVE' Nice midfielder Jean Michael Seri is likely to leave the French club this month and make a move to the Premier League, according to Footmercato. There are some among us who will get quite excited by that!!
