Yup my frustration at this defeat is over, chins up everyone, we have to focus on Sunday, win that and our season is most definately up and running. With the start we've had the League Cup is a distraction we dont need
I think we played out of our skins tonight and we were robbed by a ref who refused to grow a pair or balls and give us a penalty and denied by a keeper who should be tested for something because he had a blinder!! He pulled off some amazing saves by the sounds of things and single-handedly kept them in it. The only issue i have now is that heads might drop and we might become frustrated and lose focus.
We were rubbish, I was there we lacked creativity we have serious problems in midfield and attack. I don't want to hear about luck or anything, yes we should have had at least one penalty. They hit the crossbar in the first half though, we hit the post. Gilmartin saved us at the death, great save. JE has lost his edge and a yard of pace, Dickinson some excellent tackles including the one that made them take off Zebroski, you should have seen the look he gave after the tackle, priceless. We had the majority of the game, Gilmartin had hardly anything to do in the second half. Our penalties were rubbish, JE and CD looked scared! Chris Hughton who was at the game, I saw him will be laughing to himself!
i was there too and it was pretty even. you did have a very good 2nd half though but in extra time i thought we shaded that. overall i thought it was a good game. our keeper made some great saves when called upon. although the stats shows us taking a battering, being at the game and witnessing it for myself, it was a lot closer than what the stats made out. we played very well tonight so happy days. all the best watford 6 points off of city please
Very disappointed with team selection and the fact that we did not use all three subs. Too much is expected of John Eustace - those who think he should be playing 46 + games for us this season are a little misguided. We will be lucky to get 25 good performances out of John this season and he should definitely have been rested for this one. If Mingoia and Whichelow were fit enough to be on the bench then they should have been in the starting lineup. No Tom James and Hodson left on the bench. Forsyth is also been used too much.
Went to the game. Must say the stats somewhat shocked me. Didnt appear to be as one sided as that, and yes Watford had a lot of shots, but a lot of them didnt really test the keeper. It was an entertaining game and even if we lost, I would have walked away happy with our performance. Both sides had chances to win the game during the 90 mins though and I expect if you had a decent striker, you would have probably beaten us on the night. Good luck for the rest of the season
JE looked tired last night, let alone a few months into the season. He has lost a yard of pace, not that he was that quick anyway! He seemed to have lost his edge.
Proud Gloucester Scot - Yes I thought John was starting to slow down towards the end of last season and I could not see us getting 46 games from him again. Out of interest how did Mirfin play ?
He did OK, he did the basics well a different option to MT good back up CH. Not as tall as I thought he might be but strong, well built for a CH. Last night I thought a lot of our team were a bit lightweight, kept getting brushed aside far too easily. MS and GM need to get in the gym and bulk up a bit. I thought Dickinson played well and had some great uncompromising tackles 'no prisoners' Walker tried very hard, the Prince when he came on did try and showed some skills. Doyley should have scored oh so close. Yeates and Forysth gave width, but chopped and changed far too much for my liking. Deeney was tireless! Gilmartin did himself no harm, great save in ET, but overall had a quiet night.
i do hope sir alex does not put in a bid for scotty bevan, to replace the spanish lemon he splashed 19 million for
I agree with PSH. I was there as well and we were very dissapointing they all gave it their all but the quality was severely lacking. Dickinson looks like a new Robbo and Mirfin will be fine as a centre half but up front we really looked weak. Deeney is not the answer and Midfield Bauben looked out of his depth. Dyche needs to sign a quality midfielder and at leat two further attacking options. If not sure relagation on this form. Doyley are main goal threat says it all. I can't have a go at the commitment but quality was not there If Britol Rovers can beat us then it does not bode well.
Well make up your minds!! Either your keeper had a good game and we had plenty of shots to work him or he had nothing to do and we had few shots!!
