Should have won that. But no praise for us, at all. All the talk is about Chelsea. nice change. Like being back in the Premiership. We smothered them, worked so hard. made a lot of really good chances.
Chelsea's individual defense was excellent. They are fast. We had too many give away passes and Murphy's shot selection wasn't great. I can forgive Josh for the last shot because there were no yellow shirts near the box to pass to. All in all a very good performance by NCFC, especially on defense.
I praised you, I thought you were the better team in the first half. The second half I thought we just edged it. Very few shots on goal and the goalkeepers didn’t have any real work to do.
Nice of you to say. So pissed of with the Commentators and pundits. They talked about the game like we were a non-league side who were lucky to play against a team like Chelsea. Yes, they sign a back up player for 60M, and we sign free transfers for our first team coz we don't cheat FFP. We are still a good side. We are still a Championship side. Don't talk about us like it's offensive that we drew against Chelsea!
I don’t know which station you watched it on but I saw it on channel 7 here in English and I’ve never heard such a poorer commentators in my life. They slagged off Chelsea (rightly so) but Norwich too. Although in all honesty for me I’d have preferred to watch paint dry as it was boring and far from exciting FA Cup tie.
Not from where I was sitting, watching our young side keep Chelsea at arms length was pretty impressive.
From your perspective it was a great display against a usually better team from the premiership. But the excitement factor wasn’t there and I don’t think you managed a shot on goal the whole game. Certainly not a classic but there was a good atmosphere there.
Unlike us, we were f*cking awful going forward. We always are when we play a striker. We had no striker on the pitch for most of the game. Not surprising we didn't have any finishing. But still looked more dangerous than Chelsea.
Oh dear, I'm going to be a wet blanket and say I'm not sure it's a good result in the long term. If this season is going to be anything other than merely a fight to finish above Ipswich yet again, we need a long unbeaten run in the league. Now all our thoughts and energies go into the replay, with the possibility of picking up injuries in a competition which we have no chance at all of winning. OK, I'm a misery guts. The performances against Arsenal and Chelsea show there is a good team in there somewhere, but unfortunately we're going to lose Madisson and possibly Pritchard before we can get this team really firing. The Cup is irrelevant. We need a miracle run of results to get us into the playoffs and this result makes that even less likely.
We are fighting relegation. I think we will survive. That is as much as we can expect. so why not try in the FA cup!
Thanks for the beer DD - now in the Bell with a pint of Deuchars before heading home. I thought we played well and I so hope we'll hear soon that Trybull had signed a new contract - he's some player. I was also impressed with Lewis and it must give the other Academy players a boost. I wouldn't say any player heat a particularly bag game and whilst Chelski had several shots on goal, none of them particularly troubled Gunn. The only negative for me was that Tettey is now on 4 yellows. Edit - credit DF, Tettey had learnt to pass the ball forward!!!! PS - I don't expect much praise from the MotD pundits.
I thought all our players played pretty well particularly the defence. Murphy was probably our worse player, his decision making was particular poor not that his replacement was any better
Somehow we have no money and are in massive debt despite all our Premiership years. We need to sell all players.
