Supporting Sunderland has been an interest rather than a passion for at least the last 5 years for me. For the sake of my own mental health it is better that way.
Today's game is probably the least bothered I've been about losing for years and not because I'm numb just because I don't care about cup runs when the league and injuries are big problems.
I'm amazed anyone was particularly emotionally attached to this one. You need to focus on the league and can just about scratch a team together of fit players. The "oh look we're in trouble" first half of the season that has felt likely to blow over at any moment is now starting to feel like it isn't going to blow over. You CANNOT get relegated this season, anything else is a distraction.
