Just typical football fans complaining at any opportunity because they are pissed off at the bigger picture
Just got back. A good day out, in a quaint stadium. Atmosphere was really great, apart from the loud boos when Redmond came on, and you don't know what you're doing when hojbjerg went off. The lemina sub should have happened 10 minutes before as Fulham cranked up the pressure in exactly the same way CP did on Tuesday. I would have taken Davis off instead to add to our midfield and because he was dogshit apart from a couple of runs. We had no outball and resorted to hoofing away in the last 10 mins. Just getting deeper and deeper. And the Gabbi miss was just greeted with laughter as our best finisher skies one from 12 yards.
Not at all. There are many problems right now, the main one being that the new manager isn’t not up to the job. If you can’t see that it’s worrying. Why over complicate it with ‘clever’ ripostes?
Why, its true. Just prolonged the inevitable. With the team we have this was about our level of play right at this moment. Fans were amazing the football was sub premier league and IMO, any of the top ten sides would have beaten us today. Not saying we cannot get better but at this moment in time we are a side in free-fall and no plan to stop it happening.
Surely Yoshida and Gazzaniga should be in there somewhere, they always used to be! Can we get Middlesbrough next round, then I can use my bus pass to get to the match.
do not know the manager. the lb does look very good though, will be attracting big offers from Liverpool soon
Actually, it is a matter of squad talent, at least partly. Was there a gulf in class today? Did one group of players appear markedly superior in quality to the other? Didn't notice that myself. We don't defend well enough because our defenders are all prone to errors, we don't score enough goals because we don't have enough quality finishers. We sit off and invite pressure because we lack confidence. That's not all down to the manager - and I'm not blaming the players either, because that's how good they are; we have a Championship squad, in the main. It is what it is, and scapegoating the manager, individual players, or Les Reed's hairdresser won't solve a lot.
Nobody disagrees that we need additions. But this is a squad playing well below their individual potential, which is a management issue. I, and most people, have been very consistent as to what we believe the issues are (I’ve been rattling on about the lack of identity within the team since about game three). Therefore posts like Mowgli’s, suggesting people are flip-flopping, are frustrating.
Yep. The same group of players was conceding fewer goals per game last year... and actually scoring more as well!
It certainly isn't all down to the manager. At the same time, it would behoove us to play a style that doesn't magnify our weaknesses. We struggle to score in any sort of traffic? Get the team moving the ball forward quickly to get more chances in space. Press teams to punish them for pushing players forward. Create a little havoc. Do your utmost to ensure that teams cannot pin us in our own end, where we commit mistakes under sustained pressure. And if he cannot get the team playing in that fashion, that's his problem, and it's time to find someone who might be capable of doing so.
Don’t do clever ripostes. Just a summary of what I’ve read on here this week. Neither agreeing nor disagreeing. Just shows what fickle fans we are.
