The way Ashley 'operates' is by letting players who want to leave, leave (The recent exception to that is Routledge, but he obviously wasn't needed). How he operates is completely irrelevant to this 'story'.

Coloccini hasn't expressed any desire to leave whatsoever. There've also been no (reported) bids for him from Valencia. What NUFC.com have posted, even if it turns out to happen, is pure speculation with no real base - And also something they regularly criticise the 'evil Southern press' for doing.

I'm 28 and from players I've seen I'd have Colo and Woodgate as the centre halfs in my fantasy team. Sorry Philippe!

He's almost like a John Terry type captain, commands the defence and lets the midfield/forwards play how they want.

........I have to admit I am surprised to see them make up something and publish it without any real substance behind it, apart from a theory. Strange one.

Or we could start a 'Messi to the Toon' lead...

Messi to Toon deal fell through because they wouldn't give us the £15m we wanted for Shola going the other way in the deal.

I have no time for NUFC.COM anymore, the information they provide is stuff you could find on any news website on the net and these stories they have about people leaving have no sources, just a glorified sunday sun.

    Miserable ****s.

they are WAY too pessimistic at times but they are also really funny at times. love the amount of vocabulary they use to describe safc/their fans/bruce, and their match reports are class. Basic info, teams, goals, stats and the waffle's are class.

Woodgate is by far the best CB i've ever seen at Newcastle. On his day was one of the world's best.

Colo won't leave until his contract is up.

In my comparatively brief (to some of the guys on here) time watching NUFC, he's by far the best.

Saw Woodgate in his first game and thought he was great, unfortunately he was a bit injury prone. He came onto the scene the same time as Ramage who looked a bit special too but flattered to decieve.

This, I hope. I also sadly hoped that Colo getting captaincy may have made Jose think twice but alas it was not to be. Good luck to him anyway.

I don't think it will happen as I would think he'd cost a few bob. These rumours with Valencia have been doing the rounds for ages. That said anything is possible. I don't know how long he has left on his contract but he is well paid so that is another stumbling block. He is captain and seems happy too. Would be a monumental blow so I would hope they see him as untouchable. When Pardew said they had two in the building he needed to sort out, what did he mean? Barton? Trialists? Or have I misread it.
