Agree it was non political Wiz, and the campaign for both sides was nothing short of shambolic. I based my vote to remain on my education, work and life experiences, and what I believe is best for my future along with my children, like may leavers will have done influencing the way they voted. It concerns me how divided this has left the country and it will not go away. I do not believe the majority that voted for Brexit will get the Brexit they imagined and like it or not as the demographics and age profile changes so will the majority view leading to further disharmony. First Cameron and then May have truly messed this up. I am a lifelong Tory voter by the way, until the last election.Westminster is in a state of confusion at best and there is more money than ever being thrown into certain projects that will need extra funding post leave. Theresa May will not make a decision on anything and try to leave all options open ( this does not apply just to Brexit ). as I approach retirement I have moved a large part of my capital abroad and may well follow it over the next two years if we get a hard brexit.
Unlike some in the opposite camp I applaud your decision and respect your actions, I think we will do okay, a liitle bumpy then off we go, unfettered, I hope I'm around long enough to enjoy the prospect, I say that only because I'm knocking on.
it’s comical (and a bit tragic) the chaos we have in the UK right now; a Brexit being negotiated by a Remain campaigner PM who barely has a mandate to govern. An ultra-left dinosaur for a Labour leader who is actually a Brexiteer saying very little on the subject (which is politically clever - you don’t attack your enemy when he’s doing a great job by himself).
Think you're right R&W. Wish our political classes would unite and negotiate as one. Sure we'd have a better outcome. Seems to me that the Cleggs and most of the left are out to undermine the will of the people or in Corbyn's case just political capital. If their argument is for their honest belief then surely do it privately, all they're doing is undermining May and strengthening the EU.
What in the Labour manifesto could be described as Ultra left? The Labour manifesto reframes Labour as a party of the left. Labour fiscal policy which would spend more on infra structure is hardly radical. State ownership of utilities is a path followed by neo liberal governments.
aint got time to read all the replies but BREXIT is a world first, and any dross assopciated with it will be a learning curve for others in the future! the reality is euro un elected were getting high on all the stupid rules regs etc and feathering their own nests by staying in power and getting fat on having so many ludicrous rules in the offing you couldn't get rid of them bent bananas to them. you will also get loads of people that "speak out" in a forceful way and do get mega loads of media attention for doing so.. usually because they are directly involved, and look for limelight to brighten up their sad existence for a few weeks ... also pocket a few tax free bob for "expenses" we have it....lets get on with it....
